HELP!! I need to delete some conversation I'm over the limit and can't find where to do it on this "new and improved Blade Forums". Can someone please let me know how to delete conversations? :confused:o_O

Hey Randy, I've not had to face that one yet, but I think there's a thread about it in Tech

Select conversation or conversations with the check box. At the pop up window, select Leave Conversation. Leave = Delete.

Thanks Guy's I now have empty conversations although I don't think "leave conversations" sounds in any way sound like delete. I sounds like exiting that part of the forums.

hey randy, i think that just means if the other party wants to restart it, they can always go back and message you again on it. leaving the conversation seems to remove it for me.

Just found a benefit to Imgur that I did not know was there. I can make an image "private" but it still posts to this forum using BBCode. Makes sense, I just never thought about it until I posted the pic of my granddaughter. I will have to try that on Flickr too. As I said, that is going to be my platform going forward if I can make it work.
Alan, be aware that there is a back door or sorts for the public to see private Imgur images through sites like this one.

Sara, who is a Support Specialist at Imgur just got back to me in regards to my request for clarification on their ToS.

Here is her response:

Imgur's Terms of Service prohibits using Imgur for a content delivery network, hotlinking adult or illegal images, torrents, image hosting for commercial purposes and selling things, or sites which copy Imgur's own functionality. Imgur's intended use is not as a CDN, but rather as a platform to upload, share and browse entertaining images. Forum use is ok, as long as it's not for commercial use (selling items), adult content, or used to host website elements on the forum.

Hopefully that puts some minds at ease if you are considering Imgur for your hosting needs.

Thanks for the info Padruig. Seems to say that you should not use Imgur pictures in For Sale threads though, fair enough.

I fortunately have been having a run of good luck with WIN 10, but I've certainly seen the downsides too. (There, I've done it now. Better go rub the rabbit's foot.) It's those times that brings out the Luddite in me. Maybe we should join this bunch: http://www.commodorecomputerclub.com. Amazingly there are folks who are happily using a set up like this:

Ah, those were the good old days.
(How do they connect to the web I wonder...?)

You realize, most people under 30 wouldn't know how to operate that weird thing with a circle&holes in it. Did they say dial then?:)

Still can't get my P-Bucket library transferred , seems to take AGES to download..they send you a message saying "Don't want to wait around? relax we'll send you an e-mail when it's complete" Only they never do, suspicious....

They did send me an e-mail with a link to the zipped download, but I didn't have that many photos I guess (library had 9 pages I think) and it did complete while I waited, so I never used the e-mail link they sent me.

LOL! :D The first computer class I signed up for (in 1980), there wasn't even a computer! But the lecturer had access to one once a eek! A few years later, I remember lots of folks getting all excited about the Sinclair ZX81! :D

i suppose I am from one of the school years with moderately decent computers in the schools. Id like to say schools started getting decent computers by the early 2000s? But cellphones these days definitely beat those computers in terms of computing abilities.

My first computer was a Timex Sinclair 1000, which I believe was a ZX81 modified for the US market. I spent hours on that thing!

:D

Sir Clive Sinclair made a fortune out of these early home computers. He then squandered it on this! :D

Jack, a computer course without computers...gadzooks indeed.

RE the ZX81, a kit computer. What a bargain. And it used your tv as the monitor, foreshadowing the smart TV by decades.

16 kb RAM pack for massive add on memory! lol

I know a programmer who had an early memory stick - all the folks at his workplace were amazed by its 1MB capacity! :D Probably isn't even that long ago really!
