Oh no! You found that? :D

I'm in my 60s and wasn't paying attention when everyone started using social media. I tried a few things but it's not my cup of tea. This is about the only place I post anything on the web, and I try and be selective about it. Just my personality I guess.
Similar here. I do have a Facebook account to keep in touch with my family spread all over the country. But, I hardly ever put anything up there. Other than that: photos on Flickr and Imgur, but all people photos are private. I worry enough about it that I figured out how to do that.

Pretty much the same here (slightly younger: I turn 60 this year). I just never saw the point. I have a Twitter account that I haven't used or looked at in years. Never did Facebook or Instagram, Snapchat, or whatever else the current rage is. Other than a few photos of my hands (holding pocket knives) - which are now gone, thanks to Photobucket, there are no photos of me whatsoever on the Internet, and very few digital photos of me anywhere that are not under my control (driver's license and company photo ID are the exceptions).

Talk about 'When it rains...'! I got in tonight after a long day, and turned on my PC to find Windows 10 have blessed me with another involuntary 'full of bugs' update. Spent 4 hours just getting into my account, and now my PC looks entirely different, not only are all the settings different, but it's almost like having a different PC... I imagine a few other folks here will have received the same present  This place is the only good place on the internet, they can shove the rest of it

Thanks Alan, heck knows how many hours I'm going to have to spend on it this week. I have an Ipad, and I'm not going to buy another Windows product (I've been using Windows since 1994). Even my keyboard isn't working properly, and I've lost lots of important stuff. Really not happy :(

Wishing everyone a Happy 4th

Yikes! Wish I could help my friend. I know how frustrating it can be. Apparently, this update is pretty widely panned?

Thanks Alan, I copped for the same thing with the anniversary Windows 10 update 6 months ago :( Managed to get everything back then, but this update is even worse. Hard to believe they think people are going to pay for this stuff :(

Resizing Images in Imgur (on computer):
  1. When Looking at your Gallery of images, hover mouse over your desired picture. Click the pencil icon that is displayed. (This selects the image you want to edit)
  2. Once Image has been selected for editing, a button will appear above your Gallery to the right that says Edit. (Click it)
  3. Clicking Edit brings you to the image where you will notice the image size on the top right hand corner.
  4. Clicking on those numbers will allow you to resize your image to the desired dimensions. Once you have resized, click the Apply button on the top left hand corner.
  5. After Applying your changes, click the Save button located above your image. This will save your picture with the new dimensions to your Gallery.
After that, you should be able to share your images as before. I hope that helps.

If you are posting from your phone, I don't believe the Imgur app allows you to resize the images. You may have to resize via a different app before uploading them to Imgur when posting from your phone. I used to resize my pictures all the time with the old BladeForums software but since the upgrade, I haven't found the need to do so and I haven't generated any complaints yet that I am aware of...

Always, always, I repeat always save an image of your hard drive on a regular basis, especially before any upgrades or big updates. Recovery is a breeze by restoring the hard drive and computer to the exact same condition it was in at the time of the image.

Stuff not to do
If someone else might own the copyright to it, don't upload it. Don't upload gore, "hate speech" (i.e. demeaning race, gender, age, religious or sexual orientation, etc.), or material that is threatening, harassing, defamatory, or that encourages violence or crime. Don't upload illegal content such as child porn or nonconsensual ("revenge") porn. Don't hotlink to adult content or to file-sharing, gambling, torrent, warez, or Imgur rip-off sites. Don't impersonate someone else. Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network. If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it.

Does this actually mean that you can't use Imgur to host images for linking here? Being a content delivery network?

Confused again.

Regards, Will

I know it sounds confusing and it made me do a double take as well when I read it. However, I think it primarily applies to commercial use of their hosting platform. If you are using their image sharing services, which are free, for your own personal business venture, I think that is where they aren't interested in hosting your pictures.

"Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network."

Though to set those with concerned minds at ease, I think I might shoot an email off to them and see if I can get some clarity on it.

Mac, Apple Corp. it's expensive and for a short time could be frustrating but NEVER crashes. They don't force updates on you (so far). Etc..

Yeah, I find the Apple software quirky as I haven't used it anywhere near as much as Microsoft, but I'm sold Alan. Annoyingly, I only bought a new PC just before Windows 10 appeared. I was thinking about replacing it with Linux in the short-term, but my next computer is definitely going to be Apple. I don't want to come home again to find I can't even get into my computer, and that when I eventually do, it's been altered to look like a teenager's phone, with moving tiles linking to all sorts of stupid games and social media sites, my bookmarks trashed, and all the settings and preferences altered and locked. Windows 10 is a virus

I was up until 3.30am, but managed to get my bookmarks back. I'm going to have to spend the rest of the week messing around with this stuff though because of changes made to my property which I didn't consent to. It's like a load of clueless idiots broke into my house while I was out, had a go at redecorating, threw paint all over the walls, and then ran off leaving junk all over the place

Thanks for the support my friend

Here's wishing all my friends in the USA a very happy 4th July, and since I haven't had a chance to take a pic of my EDC this morning, here's a pic of Earl :)

(Good old Windows! Can't upload directly until I can fix that now too!)
