Bugdoc Bugdoc I actually noticed the Empire Builder the other day on Amtrak's website (it still runs daily). It seems like it would be an interesting and scenic trip!

Yes Harry, agree completely with you on the Canada trip. Don't have a bucket list per se, but we want to do this one soon.

I think it would be as well. Both Portland and Seattle are wonderful destinations. I've had the thought of training it one way, and flying back, but suspect you will pay premium prices.

33 years ago I married my best friend, most trusted confidant, and lover. I'm a most fortunate man.

Great picture leghog. My wife and I just celebrated our 38th two days ago on the 13th. We are both fortunate men we not only found very pretty ladies but they were also our soul mates. Those two gals must have the patience of Job to have put up with the two of us for so many years. :D Here is Ann and I with our two granddaughters we raised at Kinzie's graduation last year.

My wife and I just celebrated our 38th as well Randy. That's some very patient and fine women. :D
Todd, Barlow is getting big. Good looking pup. There are probably several ways of posting the links. I also am using IMGUR. What I do is from IMGUR, I copy the direct link. Then when composing a post here on BF, I click that image icon in the tool bar just above where you're typing your message. A pop up opens up, paste the direct image URL link into that pop up box and then click insert. Done. ;):D

Thanks guys! I've trained hundreds of dogs during my career, but he's probably the most intelligent. The most willful too.

So let's see if I can upload another...

There has been some interesting discussion about train travel in Europe in the Beverage & Blades thread, but to avoid derailing that thread (pun definitely intended :D), I thought I would post this here.

Although I'm not sure how many people are using them at this point, Amtrak does still operate some long-distance passenger trains in the US. In Arizona, there are no longer any passenger trains that run directly through Phoenix, but the Southwest Chief stops in Flagstaff, and both the Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle stop in Tucson and Maricopa (which is about 30 miles south of downtown Phoenix, and also happens to be where I live).

For a time, this decommissioned California Zephyr dome car served as the train station in Maricopa. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't great as a train station, and they've since added a small building behind it that now serves as the actual train station, but the old dome car is still there for lookin' at. :)

Great pics Barrett :)

Jed would have been a trad pocketknife bloke.
Jethro would have been a latest greatest tech blade dude.
All the gear but No idea.:D

Very true! :D

There's a nice little train ride Here in Arkansas from Springdale to Ft Smith and back most days. Absolutely beautiful rolling through the hills as the leaves are changing. Picked up an old Diamond Edge Barlow at an antique store in Ft Smith on that trip. Wonderful day.

That sounds like a great trip :)

The opening credits, with the song, was the best part of the show-- to the point that I don't remember ever watching more than a few minutes of whatever the actual show was...?

Eeeooosh, those vocals, heard anew just now.

H.R. PufnStuf? With WitchyPoo...?

Nothing else like it. On so many levels....

Kids, do not get into strangers' vehicles, flute or no.

H.R. PufnStuf wasn't on here until I was a bit older. I would occasionally see a couple of minutes of it when my younger sister was watching it. Looked kind of weird (even weirder than The Banana Splits!)! :D

Okay, how does one upload pictures to this new @%@$ updated forum?

I vote they change the name of the forum to that! :D Have you tried upload directly with the blue 'Upload a File' button. Pics can't be too big, but it seems to work OK  For now!

Edit - You beat me to it

I'm souring on imgur. I clicked on something and apparently I'm rated -7 for something. 0 for notoriety.
Anyway, I think I'll go gold and be able to post more images directly.

Are you making your uploaded pictures Public or Private? If they are Public, then everyone and their second cousin, thrice removed can see your pictures and due to how Imgur can be used as a form of Social Media, content can be voted up and/or down depending on the viewer's opinion. This is what creates your "Rating".

Every upload I make to Imgur is set to Private, which you can do at the moment of your upload. As a result, it has no effect on my "Rating" or "Reputation" within Imgur's platform because nobody else can freely peruse my content. As such, I can completely ignore that function of Imgur's platform, which I find to be tiresome anyway. I just use it strictly to upload pictures to their hosting service so I can share that content here.
