Carothers and Guns

You were hunting sharks with a 12 gauge on a river?

"You find that hard to believe, do you? It was right next to the van I was living in down by the river."

I was doing some cleaning today and thought I should post a pic of one of my favorite shotguns I lost years ago...

Boat sunk on a shark hunt in the maumee River...

Some day I'll post more picture from before that tragic sinking....
I gotta ask, where is the Maumee River and were you hunting the freshwater sharks with your shotgun or with your FK2 ? 😄

If one of those famed Ohio sharks gets a hold of you, you'll be crying for your Maumee!

(I remember reading the history of the Battle of Fallen Timbers near the Maumee River in a series of novels about the early days of the United States.)

It was excellent. I can't remember the author. I think I can find it...let me check and get back to you in a couple of minutes.

My google fu is weak today. It's a large series of books, (historical fiction), going back to well before the Revolution, and includes the various Indian Wars, etc. If only I could remember that author or name of the series. My brain is in a bit of a fog at the moment.

I’ve read The Frontiersmen a few times. And Wilderness Empire and The Wilderness War from that series.
