Carothers and Guns

J-frames are strangely addictive. And they still make some without that infernal hole. I might feel another one coming on...
My first was a Model 36 (blue steel) which I bought as an off-duty in 1983. Unfortunately, I traded it in in 1995 or 1996 when I didn't realize how much I'd miss it later on. Live and learn.

Sadly, I don't think we'll ever see bluing like that again. I came across a pristine early 80's Model 36 at the LGS that someone had traded in a while back. Unfortunately, it was already spoken for. If I'd just arrived an hour earlier...

It's been argued that Taurus makes a fine revolver, especially for the price. Their autos, on the other hand, suck donkey balls. Because their autos suck, I tend to stay away from their revolvers too. A buddy of mine swears by them - unfortunately, he had one stolen, along with his backpack at an event up in Washington.

Is that the Taurus 605 ? I had a 605 and it carried well and never misfired….just right in my book. 👍🏼
Yessir it is.👍 I have no real complaints about it honestly, it was just cheap.
I would guess it has around 400 rounds thru it, without issue.
I swapped out the stock grip for something with a little more real estate and its a blast to shoot 😉

Right on. I liked mine a lot and wish I still had it. I had a 608 (eight shot) .357 also. It had a ported barrel and shot like a dream. Traded that one for a VW Bug that the wifey had to have. The gun would’ve lasted much longer than the Bug did . 🥲
