100% I just don’t see good intentions or judgement in his testing. He either is or wants to portray some hardcore sf guy, that knows what a hard use tactical is. Then goes out and tests a basic field knife. So probably promoting his interest by discrediting others.

I feel like it was a fair and valid test, similar to what I do here internally to find weaknesses, and I have no problem with it.

The cars that I drive have been crash tested too.

It was tests like this, done internally, that led me to moving the block lettering from the blade and to the tang. It's not possible to be perfectly scientific with a sample size of one doing tests of this nature, but it is a useful test and it does demonstrate something useful.

In order to be a valid test, he would need to make an effort to cut the same medium in the same way, the same number of times with every knife. I haven't evaluated his other videos but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he more or less does.

Maybe those are underhardenned?😅 At 58-60hrc, N690 should be brittle, at least, according to metallurgy...

They're advertised as 60hrc. They also are 5mm+ thick and have a grind height less than halfway up the blade.

(And the company is very clearly operated by someone who's just contracting with various manufacturers in different countries, and who self-professedly cares very much about social media marketing.)

and yet the knives joe x is shilling (messerfieber) and passing his tests are made of n690
you mean hes not testing g the knifes scientifically in a controlled environment where all of the variables can be isolated and measured?

no way he wouldnt possibly have a knife survive his tests that he had an interest in it selling more of would he no way
