Case Barlow is back

With the holidays, large meals, and family gatherings, I completely neglected to post when this came in the mail. The colors are pretty different on each side. I included a Buck knife so you could see that it wasn't a trick of the lighting. The fit/finish is great and I love the colors/jigging. Case really knocked this one out of the park.

This is the first Case I've gotten in a blister pack. I love how Case does their blue bone, and included a shot with a spear blade from the Vault run a few years back.

Pretty neat it came packaged like that. How is the fit and finish? Been thinking of picking up one in crimson bone or Kentucky bluegrass bone.

The fit and finish is great! Nice pull, pretty snappy close, and no gappy back springs. There was some grit to flush out, but not much to speak of. Case is apparently phasing out the safety tip, because this one is pretty pointy.

I have the lighter one on order. I'm weak However, I do think it is important to support Case's efforts. I'm a big fan of their Crossroads line.

I agree, and I like some of their knives anyways.

On pre-order, will see how I like this Crossroads version.

I haven't heard the "official" word, but they do make the opening more ambidextrous.

One of the videos on the Case website mentions the nail nick design was carried over from the Sodbuster Jr Crossroads to maintain design across the series.

Probably faster for production as it can be done on the waterjet. I like the them because it easier to open the blade and easier to clean out. Besides, didn't Scagel use cut-outs? Seems like a good precedent to me.

They're just too unconventional for my taste and I don't really like how they look.

Ordered one of each. I think they look good, something different from Case. If would be cool if they made a shadow bolster version in Micarta.
