Case Mini Trapper with Bottle Opener / Screwdriver ("Beer Trap"!!!)

They are not a dealer exclusive and are in stock at many other Case retailers.

I may still have time! :D I haven't decided between cover options so I'm looking forward to seeing some photos when you guys get the knives.

Just received the knife. Half stops for both blades. I really like it.

Cool! If you have a chance, can you post a photo of the pile side (back) with the blade and cap lifter closed? Thanks!

Very pocket friendly. Appears to be the same size as my 62032 Small Texas Jack. Fit and finish is excellent. Springs are a little proud at half stop (which doesn't bother me) but otherwise perfect.

Mini Trappers are the same size as Texas Jacks - 3.5".

Not quite the same size but pretty close. The Beer Trap is a bit thicker, measuring 13.7 mm vs. 12.7 mm for the jack but that would vary based on the bone slab. Case lists the Beer Trap at 3.5 inches and the amber bone jack at 3 5/8 inches. In any event, they are very close in size and will easily fit in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans.

Thank you for the photos  Looks like they did a really nice job with these! :)

Glad to oblige Jake. This is a very nice knife.

Good looking knife, Vinifera!

Still considering whether I'll pick one of these up or not. CV would definitely sell me on it, but SS makes sense. My one complaint about the Case Mini Trapper has always been the clip point; I wish it was a bit more substantial, like the clip point on a GEC #15.

I generally prefer non-stainless too but for this knife the stainless doesn't bother me. Case uses the slimmer California clip for their trapper, small Texas Jack, medium stockman and similar patterns. I prefer the taller clip as in their Copperlock and similar patterns, but again for this knife it's not a big deal to me.

I like their mini trapper pattern a lot. I usually don't like slim clip blades but I think it works well on this pattern. The slimmer clip blade fits beautifully together with either the spey or Wharncliffe blades with both nail nicks on the same side. And both blades are low in the handle so they don't interfere with the grip much. With the cap lifter, it doesn't matter since the nail nick is on the other side and the screwdriver sticks out a bit more. They reused a pattern designed for another combination of blades. But it still seems to work well together. And the overall quality looks very good.

The Mini Trapper is really a fine pattern. Love the clip on them. I might want to try this variation if it comes in some good bone options.

I don't dislike the clip on the Case Mini Trapper, per se, but the profile of that GEC clip appeals to me more (both visually and functionally). The deep swoop of that California clip shape just isn't my favorite.

The Texas Jack is one of my favorite Case patterns, but it doesn't have the same clip as the Mini Trapper (and not one that I think you would call a California clip).

I wouldn't mind seeing a cap lifter on a Texas Jack. :D

Got an email earlier that my back ordered Trappist has shipped! I guess they are back in stock. Will update after arrival and modifications. Did anyone else receive theirs already?

Been using one of these here and there the past few days. Very pleased with the knife in general; the caplifter works quite well!

Just got an email that my beer trap is on the way. I have the amber bone coming, should be just like the one pictured above. I'm guessing it'll be here by Friday.

I got my beer-trap today. It seems real small but the blade is as long as the main blade of my SAK. I'm thinking that the California Clip blade might be more versatile than the spear point blade. I think I'll leave the SAK home for a week and carry my new knife and see how it goes. I am thinking I'll definitly miss the pen on the SAK, but for the most part I'd say I use the main and the caplifter/screwdriver more than all the other tools. The little beer-trap feels very comfortable in hand and after carrying the Explorer Plus exclusively for years, I might actually miss that reassuring heft that it has.
