Case Tony Bose Collabs pic and discussion thread.

I had the opposite when I sent mine in. They did a quick 3 minute buff and said it was good to go... I was actually pretty appalled at their customer service. I was tempted to send it in a 2nd time but didn't bother.

It was a Wilfred lockback, I mention it in the thread dedicated to that particular Case/Bose with pictures of the issues. Mainly covers and pins.

The atrocious finish and customer service was the reason I didn't pick up the premium stockman (even @ $299). It was in my cart, but I didn't want to roll those dice.

I'm sure the majority of these come off the line beautifully, but mine didn't and customer service did not pull through. I felt burnt twice.
That’s a bummer. I’ve sent two in for weak back springs and both came back snappy, sharp, and all cleaned up, free of charge.

I'd still love to get a Brown Bone one, but what with having to ask a proxy for help ( I don't like imposing worry) hoping the dealer will send to another address than my PayPal....will send one without issues, massive time delays to then ship to the EU, possible 25% import tax...and then IF there is something wrong with it...aarghh!

Still fancy the look of it though 😍

My experience of CASE customer service has been A1 though. One Stockman had issues, they told me to keep it and sent me a free replacement! Recently, another Stockman got a busted backspring, the fixed it up very well and returned it to me quite quickly, with very good e-mail communication too.

Got one coming. Thanks for all the help guys. At that price I'll take mine apart and pattern it. From there I'll most likely give it custom maker tune up, throw some stag on it and call it a user. :)
Jason if you’re so inclined, it would be great if you could document this and show the breakdown and reassembly process. The tools needed, steps involved, fitting the scales, etc. Some of us would find this of interest.

Well, I just ordered one myself. I was on the fence about getting one. I told myself I’d wait for a bit and see if they were still available and then make my decision. I can be…no, I am…at times…okay, most times, an impulse buyer. I resisted when I got the email a few weeks ago. I even resisted when I got a “heads up” message from some high powered enablers around here, (you know who you are! 🤣), and I was actually quite proud of myself. However, this morning Mrs. Bigfish told me to pick out a knife for Father’s Day and I couldn’t get the credit card numbers typed in fast enough! Chestnut bone on the way. 😄👍

I'm always inclined to share WIP's but here's the "but". Sharing it all on a forum is such a time consuming pita. Trust me when I tell you I am not a social media type person but IG for me has been a godsend. There is a large knife community/audience there, it's free and posting content including videos is quick and simple. I post pictures and videos to my story frequently with every knife I build. Jason Taber does the same thing there. Probably not the answer you want to hear but it's the best I got. Between full time railroading, now as a campground and resort owner, keeping up with my kids activities and trying to find shop time along with running my knifemaking content through IG primarily I'm just out of hours in the day. :)

I really like Case's Chestnut bone. That's awfully tempting.

Very sharp, even enough grinds and super snappy. Definitely has a different feel from any Case knife I've owned, or any knife for that matter. I feel like it was $299 well spent. And the Bonus tribal lock isn't too shabby either

I just had to go and visit the above mentioned knife store's website on Saturday, and ended up ordering a Chestnut Bone.

Bunch of darn enablers!

I guess we're at the point where we're pretty much limited to whatever is left in dealers inventory, and then returning them directly to Case under warranty if needed. Returning them to the dealer probably isn't an option, unless you want a refund, because I doubt they have anything better for exchanges. I was expecting this, but knives at this price point shouldn't be leaving the factory with qc issues in the first place.

Thanks for the heads up on the Premium Stockman sale guys! If anyone has a bead on a CB cattle knife, any condition please let me know. ;) Anyway, got my knife in today. Gonna take apart and pattern then I'm thinking some nice thin prime popcorn stag with a double bomb shield to finish her out.

Mine arrived this week and thankfully there aren’t any issues with it. I don’t think I love the color but I don’t hate it either. This is a well made, beefy, chunk of a knife.

I doubt it will see too much summer pocket time due to its heft, but once blue Jean season arrives again it’s sure to be in the rotation.

They feel a bit large for some of my pants, too. I had an old leather belt pouch that it fits in perfectly, and that's how I usually carry mine. I thought it'd be a pain, but I find it's no more trouble unsnapping the pouch & getting it out, than it is digging it out of a pocket.

Good point - it would probably be a perfect candidate for a belt sheath. I’ve got a Buck 110 sheath around here somewhere.

I don't want to name any providers, but if you google: "Case medium job sheath", that's the one I have, and it's about the perfect size. I suppose the one they have for the trapper would fit too.
