Case Tony Bose Collabs pic and discussion thread.

Gentlemen, the shields are pinned on all the Case Bose annuals. And yes they are intentionally left proud so as to no disturb the bone and to pronounce the shield. This is customary for these knives and for custom makers alike.

Now if you want to richen that bone coloring up it's a quite simple process. Buy a small 4 oz jar of Fiebings Pro Dye leather dye. I recommend dark chocolate. With a small paintbrush apply the dye to the bone. I usually coat it a good 4 - 5 times and get a nice thick layer on there. Don't worry if you get it on any of the metal it wipes right off. Metal doesn't absorb dye. ;) Next trun your oven on and preheat to 150*. Stick your knife in the oven for about 8 minutes. I leave mine in for exactly 8. Pull the knife out and wipe with an old cotton cloth. Enjoy! Here's an example. This cattle knife had Chestnut bone originally. FYI the heat opens up the pores in the bone just enough to allow the dye to penatrate and hold. ;)

Great tip, thanks so much Jason. 😎👍

I like that dark brown. I think they did a good job on this one, but I do have a few other knives that I'd probably like better in a darker color though. Thanks for the expert advice.20221218_095955-X4.jpg

Hello All,
I just picked this guy up but need a new pouch for it. Does anyone know if replacement pouches are sold and where I can find one?
Thank you,
Rick

Was so happy with the first Case Bose Bullnose Trapper in 154CM, one more was needed under the two is one, one is none rule. This is another wonderful Case Bose Bullnose Trapper. Really happy with this one, nicely done all around. Really nice color on this one. The camera is not picking up the richness of the color very well, but it is very nice coloring. Tip of the hat to the workers at Case. Well done. 👍

Thanks for the feedback, Bart. Honesty, I don't know whether the shields on these are pinned or glued. I had read somewhere that they are pinned -- but, as Abraham Lincoln once famously said, "Don't believe everything you read on the internet." 🤣

The shield doesn't feel loose, so that's good. As you can see in my photo, I also have what looks like some dried white residue in the jigging around the shield -- thanks for the tip on getting rid of it.

When all is said and done, I look forward to enjoying this one. :)
In my previous message I meant to say I’m almost certain they’re not glued on. As was mentioned by others, you can see the pin inside the blade well.
Hi Bart, sweet knife you have there and I like the color on the bone.

I had a moment of weakness last night and ordered one. 😂

Looking forward to getting it. It will be carried.
Thanks, Pete. I’m sure you’ll like it, they’re great knives. It’s cool seeing them all pop up on here👍
A few quick snaps of my darkened Chestnut bone cattle knife. Sorry I don't have any "before" photos. This method darkened it considerably.

Dye job looks great, Jason.
That’s a cool one, Todd. Don’t see many of the doglegs.

Thought I'd post a group shot. Up until the recent arrival of the WT in "Chestnut", each of mine had a different set of covers. Not something that I was consciously trying to accomplish -- it just worked out that way. Of the jigged bone variety, "Antique" may be my favorite.

Really like it the way it is, enhances the jigging in my view. There's enough turd coloured knives around to suit all needs :D;) I'd like to get hold of one just like the one you show, devoid of any 'issues'.

Thanks, Will
