I made this when I was first getting acquainted, buried somewhere in this thread, with the plan of updating it with other details over time (e.g. counts by cover) but you know what they say about best laid plans. Added the details about halfstops though (thanks @brownshoe )

I'm pretty sure after 2007 it's all 154-CM (putting Damascus aside) but I'll leave it blank until I can verify

That's correct for both the 2005 and the 2014 Lock back whittlers. I just checked mine.I think the Lockback Whittler has a cam on the main blade and half stops on the secondary blades. But I could be wrong.
I was able to pretty much adjust it gently using a vice. can still see the outline of the pin a bit but it's pretty much flush now. I'm still waiting on Case to respond but regardless, I think it's pretty much resolved, not sure they could do much else to blend in the pin outline. Blade wobble is completely gone and it's centered now so nothing really beyond a little bit of a cosmetic issue which doesn't bother me too much.I would not like to find an exposed and tactile pin like that on a Collab. Blade play as well you say? Should not be at this level in my view.
Thanks I scuffed the bolster a smidge when I messed with it but a light touch up with some high grit sand paper has pretty much restored it. I probably should have waited for Case to respond and see if I should have just sent it to them but I”m impatient and it’s been a few days and I still haven’t gotten a response from them.Gus,
if it backs out again, trying using one miniscule drop, literally one tiny fraction of a drop, of blue loctite on the exposed surface of the pin before pushing it back in. I’ve used the tip of a straight pin to gather a very small amount when needed on small parts.
Wow, can’t wait to see it, congrats.Dennis’ chart above is very informative and interesting. So I started studying it and looking for some of the early models. Stumbled across one model I had not known of before, the Yukon Hunter. Found a couple reasonably priced online and now have one on the way. Really appreciate all of that work Dennis. Thank for for the time, effort, and sharing it.![]()
Congrats it’s a great piece.I have a Lanny’s Clip on the way that I am pretty psyched about. And yes, Dennis‘ chart was nice in that it showed me what I was missing.
LikeAll 24 patterns have a Damascus blade- they made the Damascus in Luke 2011 for the patterns back to 1999 and the others shortly after release of new patterns
