Cast Iron Beckerheads, Sound Off!

Dutch Oven Biscuits

Hudson Bay Biscuits with Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, and Cheese,

First thing, coffee,

Add Bacon,

While bacon is cooking, mix up biscuit dough and warm Dutch Oven,

Turn dough out onto flowered board,

Flatten and cut into biscuits,

Pour off just enough bacon grease to lightly coat the bottom of the Dutch Oven and place biscuits,

Place over fire with coals on top,

Now to the eggs,

By now the bacon should be done, remove and drain most of the grease from pan,

Scramble four eggs,

Eat two pieces of bacon, then chop the rest to go in the eggs, chop some muenster cheese to go on top. (sorry for the non Becker content, I do use other knives sometimes, please don't hate me)

Pour egg mixture into bacon pan

Check biscuits, Looks good, remove from heat,

When almost set, remove eggs from heat, top with cheese, set Dutch Oven top on pan briefly to melt cheese,

And there you go, scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese, and home made biscuits, Yum,

For special Guyon brownie bonus biscuit points,
Take remaining biscuits, and add honey and butter, or home made, home canned, Blackberry Jam for desert,

All in all, a very cool way to spend an early Saturday morning!
Especially given the fact that the coffee was laced with home made Baileys.

I have a dutch oven and a couple of others that I will have to take a picture of tonight but I am thinking I have to get me a waffle iron! That is awesome looking and I loves me some waffles.

I cooked a New York Strip and grilled some corn on mine yesterday.

I discovered cast iron a few years ago. Wouldnt live without it now. Works so much better than non stick pans for so many things. Now all I need is a proper becker so I can post pics here. One day...

Wtf LV, that's some gourmet cookin right there. Looks amazing!

I know I keep sayin it, but I reallyyy need to pick up a sportsman grill. I keep day dreaming about ribeye cooked on that thing.

This may be the best thread on the internet.
Man, I'm hungry.

OK. Who is going to contact Lodge about a special edition Beckerhead Sportsman's grill?
I know they will sell!

I think Lodge will do special runs, I have a Dutch Oven emblazoned with the 1980 Winter Olympics from Lake Placid.

Don't know how many pieces are required though?

So you're saying there's a chance.:D

Here's my #8 Griswold with the solid bits of a steak marinade. Steak's taking up the grill, so I use the camp chef for the extras.

We have a bunch of skillets, a couple of dutch ovens, and I just picked up one of those lodge sets with a deep pan and a skillet that doubles as a lid. My claim to infamy: I once built a fire so hot it melted the coating of an enameled dutch oven. The owner was insistent on putting it in the fire, and I'd only ever worked with charcoal. The enamel bubbled and melted on one handle. It ended up marred, but not ruined. The food was a bit smokey.
