Here's one for the books... A walnut TC from the latest run. I recently got this one in trade from another forum member. Apparently he received a Tan Jig Sheep/Pen with a crack in the scale. He sent it back to GEC for repair and they did not have any more Tan Jig Bone, so they replaced it with walnut. The pen blade was stamped with an "R", I assume for "Repaired" or "Re-Covered"?

Does anyone know if there are other TC anomalies out there from this run or previous runs with an "R" stamp?

GEC consulted with me on that one. It is the first "R" knife that was officially re-handled at the factory! An interesting anomaly.
Of course, many have been re-handled whimsically! I have a Stag-handled one myself, done by Bad Glenn!!

Thanks for the info Charlie! Now I'm especially glad I traded for it :D.

Thanks for posting The Ebony knife and info, Rob! There are so many bits of mis-information about the black woods out there!!

I believe I have another couple of TCs to add to the master list. When I sent the Palo Santo wood to Bill, he cut some, and assembled two Barlows from the parts drawer, displaying the wood for approval. I have one, and Bill retained the other.
Here is mine, shown with a production knife. As you can see, the prototype has a 2013 blade in it, from the first Sheepfoot run.

P.S. I talked to Chris today, and she said it would be alright to send the knife back to receive a "prototype" etch!

Thought I'd move this post up a page. Wouldn't want Rob to miss it!!:)

You guys catch me side tracked with my new Orchard Gems (re-finishing my dropped one) and now there are more rare models to contemplate.

I updated the list to reflect the changes. Nice photos Perry, Al, and Charlie !!

Charlow History just keeps getting more intriguing ! :)

I have a one of seventeen "Days Work" Soup Bone on it's way. ;):D:D

You're going to be very impressed by that one, Rob! One of the all time greats by GEC. I like the subtle saw cut on top of the valleys of the soup bone. The one I have is one of my all time favorites of the "Day's Work" run!

I have a 152114 Blood Red Jig Bone with a tube cap wording the same and label on the pail stating "shoe polish." There's no end cap (EC) on the label or knife. I'm curious about the differences from the 2014 list below. Were a certain amount of the labels different?

Dean

Dean, I think it was only the third cut stag models that had the Recycling label. I'll check when I get home later.
