Hey hey hey! <insert Fat Albert voice>

Its a bit chilly here this morning, a nice cold breeze blowing through. Gotta work today though I'm off again tomorrow. I managed to get exactly zero things done yesterday, it felt great! I haven't lounged around in a while.

Make it a great day y'all!

Glass Beads - we're getting set up! Sara's beads are top notch and now she is moving up to Borosilicate! (hard glass... she was using a different setup for soft glass)

Glow beads... yep!

I thought glass wasn't durable but custom glass is like custom knives, way better! You can skip these on concrete like a stone on water and not even scratch the finish. The are heat treated for toughness!

Good Morning!! Keep rocking, Daniel!!

Sounds like we gonna see some new toys coming out of DFK soon! I'm excited.

Enjoy the Friday guys!

Mornin troop!

Daniel, can't wait to see Sara's work! I have some custom glass... :D

Day off and havin a beer sittin on the front porch! Mmm, winter brown ales are starting to hit the shelves. I was working on some self portraits this morning, had great light, but it only lasts for an hour at most. Got some decent shots, need a little touch up in post processing, but otherwise I'm happy! Tough to work on portrait shooting without a model, and running back and forth doing self portraits gets old. I really need to find a studio space and model to use.

Make it a fantastic day folks!

Good morning! Sounds like things are just ramping up for you and Sara. This is the year for the Fairly's!
Y'all have a good weekend !
Xander, Did you get that camera?

No haven't got the camera yet. I won't officially claim I'm getting it until its in the mail. Things happen, you know?? I know the deal is sealed between us, but just overly cautious about getting my hopes up...

I've got some creative mojo going today, gonna hit the sketch book. I'm thinkin pocket cleaver now...also friction folder...or possibly Ti blade...maybe knucks...maybe I'll design the next space shuttle...anything is possible with pen and paper! Speaking of pen and paper, that matters to me too. I'm going to use Canson Foundation Series 25# vellum and a 1970's vintage Parker '21' aeromatic fountain pen loaded with vintage Scheaffer Skrip jet black permanent ink. Quality tools makes quality time....

Hey folks, back from a productive conference in Montana (Big Sky - lovely country, had some nice walks through the woods in my too-limited down time).

Thought I'd update y'all on the status of the friction folder collection, so here goes. fast14riot, it should go without saying that I will want to see what you have in store for a frikky - alas, my own designs have yet to show any progress, owing to a complete and utter lack of time. Projected finish date - sometime in 2016 (if I'm lucky).

Here's a few new bits and pieces I've picked up lately.

Takeda Bichu no Kami in Aogami Super Steel:

Peter Steyn Roman Gladiator in 12C27 (love the work on this, especially the mosaic pins and the machined pivot. The bamboo scales are super light in the hand, too.)

K'roo Khoi Bullfrog in N690 and CF scales:

And the surprise of the bunch, a Davo Knives Mini Cleaver in a seriously solid chunk of 1084 that is tiny (sub 2" blade) but sits really well in the hand. A real pleasure, and a bargain too.

There you have it, folks. My knife porn for the day. At last count, I'm up to 21 friction folders, with another 5 in progress or in the mail (6 if Daniel ever finishes another one ;) ). Cheers!
