About 15 years ago while working in a kitchen I had my best idea ever... my claim to riches if I could pull it off! Pre-cooked Bacon packaged like a candy bar... two strips to go while you check-out, lol!

Pre-cooked bacon stays good for a while from what I understand...

Stay off the roads guys... my knives are out there being delivered as I type this! Look out for tracking notices later today.

I'm out of stock besides a few Keychain tools... thanks to everyone for the support!

Dan have you ever seen tactical bacon? It's basically cooked bacon in a can stored in wax paper and bacon grease. It's pretty tasty lol

They have that at the local Army surplus! I almost bought some. Sounds good!

I could lube my knives with it for that extra tactical edge... :D

Yo yo yo!

Bobby, what's happenin brutha!

Got another day off today. Not looking forward to the rest of this week, I work Friday which is going to be DEAD, then Saturday I am working an 11 hour day, open to close. Need the overtime to make up for the hours I lost leaving early the other day to go buy a battery for the wifes car, but it's gonna be a drag. With the 4th being on a Friday this year I can almost guarantee that my store will be dead all weekend.

Mornin fellas.

We had some bad storms roll through, and the Thundershirt appears to have done the trick. Instead of panting, pacing and generally being a wreck, the dog just found a quiet spot and slept. It was awesome.

She still doesn't like fireworks - but definitely takes the edge off the anxiety for her.

Also found a decent basic tent for when we go car camping on Craigslist for $25. So that helps - now I can just focus on the rest of the set up.

And means I can save money for more knives. One of these days, Daniel... that magic combination of something I want, it still being available, and money in the bank will line up. ;)

With hookers. ^
:D

Yes. :D

Tastes like BACON . It just doesn't have any BACON grease on it. I've never heard of the paper bag trick.
It looks like I will be having Bacon for breakfast on my next backpacking trip!
I was visiting Jen's parents the other day and her Dad let me check out this sweet old swing guard lockback. The story is that Jen's mother's father confiscated it from a student of his many many years ago. I couldn't make out the tang stamp very well but I think it might say WUBERT.I love that old stag!

Liam, I know where a nice little tanto is being offered on the secondary market. An original A2 tanto by DFK with convex tip grind.

Cool you found a tent! One thing about sleeping bags, you and the wife may want to look into some of the rectangle bags, you can totally unzip them and then they zip together to make a couples bag. You can get them as cheap as $20 from Walmart.com, but they are more like +30° bags. Not great for snow or winter, but not bad for fair weather camping either. Out here I like a 0° bag for the desert camping I do.

Kevin, that might be a WILBERT knife made by either Naponoch or Empire. Both good brands. They used stag and jigged bone quite a bit.

Given that we are mostly going to be summer/fall camping - we may just forgo the bags and get an air mattress and blankets - this will all be car camping so the weight is a relative non-issue.

For my own camping, I'm going to go back to how I used to roll, and make a waxed canvas bedroll to use. I can always add a bag later if needed.

Hmmm... a DFK A2 tanto you say... pm me details?

I also agree, it's probably Wilbert.

Hey guys! Sounds like good stuff all around.

Liamstrain that is good on the dog! My family raised greyhounds and we noticed that fear of storms was passed down genetically. We had one dog that as soon as lightning struck it would just jump out of the pen and show up at our house.

Thanks again Rolf... you Rock!!!!

OK, back to work! :D

Liam, Are you looking for a backpack?
I Think you and X are right about the knife. thanks.
that is very cool that your dog has found some relief from the fear of fireworks. One of my dogs is also afraid of fireworks but now she is so old that she is deaf and can't hear them any more.... silver linings...either she is deaf or she is just ignoring me and does not give a F about fireworks anymore. :D

Flatblack - yes, still trying to narrow down the pack. I'm thinking something in the size range of the Kelty Redwing 50 - as long as I can strap a bedroll or bag underneath it. Not sure if i want internal or external frame, or get a Frost River Ilse Royale and just deal with the extra weight..

Internal frame packs have come a long way in recent years. Much more comfortable, allowing airflow and adjustment while still having plenty of places to tie things too. Some killer deals can be had on the auction sites too. My packs were a house brand but have held up for over 10 years now because they were made by a major manufacturer.

Just relaxing today hope everyone has made this day theirs to enjoy. Remember, MAKE it a good day, don't rely on others to let you have a good day!!!

I'm outta control here! :D Still heat treating knives until very late tonight after a long day in the shop. Things are going nicely and the knives are coming out as straight as arrows... that's all I can really ask for!

Evening gents! I've a bottle of 12 year old single malt that's just asking to be opened. I can hear it calling. It's been in the cabinet for over a month! Yep, I think it's about time.
