Flatblack - yes, still trying to narrow down the pack. I'm thinking something in the size range of the Kelty Redwing 50 - as long as I can strap a bedroll or bag underneath it. Not sure if i want internal or external frame, or get a Frost River Ilse Royale and just deal with the extra weight..

I have a extra internal frame pack that I do not use. You can have it for the price of shipping. I will take a pic and send you a pm with specs tomorrow afternoon.

Big day ahead! My blades are straight and heat treated... that was a lot of heat treating!

By the way, it turns out that 1935 F ceramic plates will catch anything on fire! lmao I keep things exciting!

I'm all over the place today, finishing lots up! :D

I cut open the stainless heat treat packets with scissors after a few seconds of quench, it adds extra excitement. :D

I have found that if I do this I have great luck keeping everything straight and it is and better for the steels I was using too... quick to 900 then slow the cooling. With stuff like M4 this is key... controlling quench rate.

M4? That's probably my favorite steel. You know that thing we talked about that one time when I sent you that email of that pic I drew up? Uh-huh...

I know what you're sayin!!! :D

I'm not using any M4 at the moment, it is somewhat hard to find but I'll have to keep that in mind! I want to get a way to surface grind steel and that will open up a window of opportunities with the folders.

^ Thanks! I'm always just one tool away from satisfaction! lol

It's funny, I'm a minimalist and always try to find a simple way to do things... well knives take a lot of tools! lol

I bet Xander! :D

Anyone have a line up on freight shipping? I'm considering a 3000 pound mill. I'm serious about the shipping thing too, I'm having a hard time getting a decent quote.

I might, I have have a friend who owns owns a trucking company.... from where and how close to your compound?
