R.I.P. Robin Williams. Will be greatly missed. I am actually saddened greatly by this. I've met him twice when I lived in The City. First class gentleman and human being. Truly was.

Rifle looks good, but, what's that big ol' thing sticking out of the bottom? Never seen one like that here in Kalifornia... ;-) My pet peave, I despise the M4 barrel profile, I wish someone would make a light profile barrel without the stupid grenade launcher cutout. Who really needs the grenade launcher anyways?! I know, nothing you could do, but just the industry irritates me that way. I do like that angle grip, they are comfy, looks like yours actually makes sense on your build, seen too many where it's just a $$$ additive with no real purpose. Overall, super clean build! I like it!!! Pics of mine soon!

Kev, looks like you were just east of Silver Lake? Medium high Sierra Nevada range?

Been thoroughly enjoying the new Smith & Forge Hard Cider. Great stuff, not much sweetness at all. 'Bout to open another, but of course I had to get through my case of SN Torpedo to begin with! ......jrunk.....

I have about half of my upgrades planned out. Still deciding on a trigger, BCG, and an upgrade floating hand guard. I really like the Sparc. 2MOA, great customer service and it was cheap!
 
Wait, what BCG are you upgrading to? NiB? LMT Enhanced? Check out HamlundTactical.com for ridiculous low prices. Bought my dad a 6.8 full NiB BCG from there for $129.99.


I've already decided that my next build is going to be Tiffany blue, in .223 Wylde. The wife will forget to complain once she sees the Tiffany blue color gun! Seriously, this is real world marriage advice....anything Tiffany blue will totally eliminate the sticker shock, like my current build is quickly approaching the 2K mark and that's using optics from another rifle. Paint it blue and they will forget any form of monetary value!

Knife maker? - only when I'm awake

12... RF2's? I have a few coming up... two in stonewashed! They will be be today if possible, I was breaking them in yesterday. :D

After these are out I might take a day off! That was one heck of a weekend. It's not like I completely obsess over the knives until they are finished... oh no! lol

I swear I'm finishing my CAD soon, I will be sending off to have clips waterjet cut. :D

Bags are in... mail day today! :D
 
Morning guys.

The wife got a Tiffany necklace this year on my birthday trip.

Got my stock for the AR today too, just waiting on gas system to show up then it's gonna be like a kid with Legos on Christmas, stuff gonna be spread everywhere and in the end I'm gonna have a working rifle!

Back to work today, off again tomorrow. Hopefully the new kid catches on. I'm a bit concerned though, he's a pre-med student at U.C. Davis right now and isn't even 20 yet...

Didn't feel like displaying all the little parts and pins/springs, but the only things missing are gas block, gas tube, optics mount and scope. Will be getting a bipod as well. Already have the scope, mount is on the way and waiting for the gas system to get in stock.

Have you decided on optics? I am really happy with the Sparc.

I like that stock. I was seriously considering it! What kinda barrel?
 
Xander that is looking good! You guys make me want to build an AK... my ultimate builds (or just cool stuff to buy!) being the M3 Grease Gun or Swedish K. My Dad carried both in Vietnam and liked hem a lot. I'm personally hoping to get an 1858 Colt style black powder pistol... last year they had them on sale at Cabelas with an extra cylinder for $200 if I recall correctly.
 
Bobby, I'm pulling a 6-24x44 Barska off my .30-06 for now, but will eventually put a scope on this rifle permanently. This is the Blackhawk grip, it's nice but is a bit narrow for my liking. It came with the lpk so I'll run it for now. Thinking about making my own from a walnut burl I have sitting around. Barrel is 24" stainless bull barrel from JT Distributing in 6.8spc but I reamed the chamber to 6.8spcII. 11° target crown, .936 gas journal, .095 gas port, rifle length tube. The stock is awesome! Very solid and easy to adjust. Nothing moves when tightened down. I was considering the Magpul PRS, but I didn't like the price or the fact that the adjustments are just spring detent and no way to lock them. I paid 126 for this stock from eBay.

Next build is going to be either open sights or a red dot and hopefully .223 Wylde chamber.

Daniel, I like the AK, but they are noisy guns! Such loose tolerances on everything, which is why they always function. You can do a gas piston conversion on an AR easily, it will then function similar to the AK. Those Colt Army pistols are really cool! Just always shoot with the wind at your back, lol!

Good luck with that Rolf! That's a rare one, who knows, maybe that guy from the show Sons of Guns has one and needs to sell it now...

I do have contacts in Germany and Italy though, don't know how you could import it legally...
