Woo hoo! We're all excited for ya, dude. Here's to a happy and healthy delivery of the next Fairly!

Daniel, the count down begins!!! At least this time around you know what you're doing, lol!

Bobby, et all, the show was f***ing AWESOME! I had forgotten just how many of my favorite songs were by Soundgarden! They were fantastic! Chris Cornell sounds just like the albums, too! Funny, their intro included Spoon Man, which got everybody excited, but after Chris addresses the audience and asks "How can you f***ers enjoy a rock show sitting in plastic folding chairs up front, let's get some people up here!" There were people running from the lawn seating to get into the pit area, lol, way more people than security could handle or stop!

NIN, of course their show is pure performance art! The amount of time and money they put into their creative lighting just astounds me! Even if you're not that big of a fan, the show they put on is just amazing! Of course when they play "Closer" they do some crazy lighting effects. This show they had 7 of these looked like 6x10 foot panels that were translucent and an entire led screen that functioned independently or as a group.

The wife and I had a blast! But, the $12 beer was a bit insane...o_0

If you start making the baby a knife now, I bet you could have it done in time. :D Fer realz dough , congats to ya Papa Fairly!......and to Sara, she is doin' most of the work.....the hard part....the part I don't think I would want to do even if I was able...:D

Hey guys! Just in from the appointment and then mushroom hunting! We had a late ultrasound and got great news, no c-section involved! Everything is looking great!

The mushroom hunting was nice, it is already late in the season but we cleaned up on the Porcini (Bolete). We also fond a lot of Hawks Wing and even a few ultra rare Desert Club. This sounds odd... to me especially but the Desert Club mushroom tasted like cinnamon, honey, cream and nutmeg... very sweet too. I had no idea a mushroom could taste anything like that but dang t was good! Porcini Pizza later... I might fry some up too.

yes baby very soon! :eek: I'm gong to get as much done as possible now because I know it will be hard for the first few weeks... but fun!

Xander I bet the show was great! I saw Soundgarden way back and was a huge fan but the live show made me realize just how good they really are.. I am a big NIN fan too, have just about everything major he/they released. NIN got me into electronic music, I'll never forget hearing Pretty Hate Machine and being told it was one guy.

Time to relax! We just walked in...

Ugh, restless night, the boy picked up a minor head cold and had a stuffy nose all night. He would wake up crying because he couldn't breathe or he rubbed his nose raw. The wife had given him something for a headache before I got home so I couldn't give him any cold medicine until about midnight. But, he still didn't sleep well, which means I don't sleep well. Just think Daniel, you're going to have this x2! Oh boy! I'm sending you a pallet of redbull... :D

Gonna try some studio still life shots today, I have some Anaheim chilis that I'm going to shoot in the style of Edward Weston. Or try to as I understand his work, anyways...

One preliminary shot, pretty much straight out of the camera. It was much lighter in overall tone on my monitor, just a quick crop is all, still need to do some processing.

Love the lighting around the big hump in the center. Great shot x!

Took a couple bad cell phone pics of the tsuba today to try and capture its patina. The owari school is known for a dark color with a purple tint and it shows wonderfully on this piece.



 
Thanks Evan. I gotta figure out why it darkened up so much. Even when I uploaded to flickr, it was very dark. I'm gonna play around with it some more tonight. It might be because it's compressing so much data from the large file, but could be something else.

We'll see.


That thing is way cool, btw! I don't even know where to begin looking for one to buy or what kind of money is involved with them. I imagine it can be considerable...
