Thanks Evan. I gotta figure out why it darkened up so much. Even when I uploaded to flickr, it was very dark. I'm gonna play around with it some more tonight. It might be because it's compressing so much data from the large file, but could be something else.

We'll see.

That thing is way cool, btw! I don't even know where to begin looking for one to buy or what kind of money is involved with them. I imagine it can be considerable...

There are a few reputable dealers that I could direct you to if you ever want to pick one up. I'd be happy to share my knowledge! Stay off eBay, for real. lol

Price is all in what you're looking for. The big factors are age, condition and workmanship. Low end to get a solid piece is around the $150-$200 range, really nice pieces start around $400-$500 and run all the way up into the thousands.

Even, shoot me an email, my user name at comcast.net. Not in the cards currently, but something I would love to own at some point and research is my strong point. I've also considered trying my hand at making something resembling one, who knows, I may still try that.

On an unrelated note, I had a very interesting beer tonight. Sierra Nevada Rain Check. The first beer out of their brand new North Carolina brewery! Very east coast flavor profile, very malty, molasses, rich dark tones, nearly no hint of hopps either. Closest SN product I can relate it to would be the Ovila brew, but with this being less hopps and more malt. Ovila was a very well balanced hopp/malt brew, very different from their "in your face" hopp forward profiles they are known for. It was pleasant, not my usual style, but not something I dislike either. Try it out...

Mornin' !
Evan, that tsuba coloring reminds me of the plumb finish that Daniel did on this wicked sweet bitchin tanto that I have. I will post a pic a little later.
Have a great Saturday y'all.

Rolf, what is this holiday?
Here is that DFK tanto

Evening/morning guys!

Up late editing that pepper photo. It irked me how it came out. I did figure out the problem though, it was the idiot behind the keyboard :p. In my haste to get it loaded and edited, I picked the wrong file. When looking at thumbnails in the file folder it is very difficult to see the details that separate the one good photo from the rest of the practice shots. Especially when it is just a slight lighting difference like moving a "gobo" (something that GOes Between Objects and the light to cut excess light spill) a fraction of an inch to get things exactly how you want. Here is a much better version, I even deleted the other photo from my album so it's not still floating around making me look bad, lol:p

Anyways, just the ramblings and product of near insomnia. Sleep is highly over rated sometimes o_0

Keep on keepin on!

Hey guys!

Evan that is good info...my Dad told me back in the 1970's in England he saw nice Tsubas converted to belt buckles! He had some cool menukis he picked up along the way...

Cool Xander! I'll look for that beer too. I'm making a local wild hop beer soon and eyeing the plants for peak ripening which will be very soon! :)

FBC, cool pic! That was from the first batch of knives I ever made... I'm really liking how the Plum Brown is looking along with the rough finish.

Hey IMWILSON!

Rolf, get some red paint! :p

14 hour day yesterday getting ready for winter! On a side note... 10V! I have mentioned it already but am excited. 64 RC may happen; will send off for heat treat. Did I mention .040", .063", .100", .155" Titanium? :D
