I have used the Kabar Doziers (Folding Hunter), Rough Riders, Enlans/Bees/Sanrenmu/Navy (there are a few brands that are kinda similar) and if I could only spend that kind of money, these would be my choices as well. I'd agree that there will always be that knife that is way worth it if you just step up in money and suggestions could just keep going and going, but when we're this far down on the money scale, you really do get a whole world of knives at the $30 area vs what is available at $15. I'm not gonna be the one to say save and wait because if you're like me, you're gonna buy this one, and then you're gonna buy another one, and then some more, and $15 isn't the end of the world. Will you look back and say that knife was a complete waste of money? Maybe. Unfortunately I think it will be pretty easy to spend $15 and get a poor product. I'm not gonna say the Enlans are really amazing for the money, but I think they are closer to what you're looking for and at their price point are consistently decent (plus lots of options). Of the three I think the Rough Riders are the most fun and best value. The Kabar "Folding Hunters" are sort of the everything you need, absolutely nothing you don't - plain ole functional pocket knife that has a lot of value in its simplicity. I have a couple Folding Hunters and I think they are very functional - a utilitarian driven product and that's something I can appreciate.
