I guess this belong to General Discussion, mods will decide. We have been years seeing Spyderco copies, SOG copies and Cold Steel copies from those counterfeiters. New batch now, they're trying to copy the TriAd lock.

These sell at half the real deal's price at some Chinese sites (that one that starts by DH--- is one of them, mother***), so maybe we'll start hearing complaints about crappy TriAd locks and locking failures soon.

Just giving a heads up and posting pics of the fakes, so that nobody please starts thinking they are getting a smoking deal on a TriAd.

Interesting. Though I'm sot sure what saying "that one that starts with DH---" does, being that the full name of that site if featured prominently in the pics you poached from them.

But they certainly appear to be counterfeits.

I'd certainly be curious about the connection to survivalblog.com, an actual site, which appears on the blades, along with what appears to be the signature of that site's founder, James Wesley Rawles.

The thumb stud and Cold Steel stamp on the blade do look suspect....suppose, once again, if something is too good to be true...

I surprised people still buy from that site.

Fake, fake, fake, fake, fake.

Pretty sick of people saying their chinese garbage is "better" because of the price or even the jerseys they sell that freakin everyone has. You would have to pay me to buy some knockoff chinese junk. That place is like a streetcorner in chinatown.

Whoa.

1) Everyone knows that not all Chinese made knives are garbage counterfeits. Sure some are, everybody know that too.
2) Maybe you can expand upon what you feel goes on on a streetcorner in ChinaTown.

I know I got a my first knife from a street corner in Chinatown in NY. They were known for cheap things and knockoffs.
Interestingly, the only certified Benchmade dealer in Cleveland is in our Asia town.

A Chinese copy of a Taiwanese knife. Wouldn't buy a knife from either country

I don't buy anything from Taiwan.

Sent from my iPhone running on silicon made by Taiwan Semiconductor.

I have not bought ANY knives (or anything else) made on Mars. Who cares? Both countries mentioned make some excellent knives and anyone is free to buy them or not. The posts (and many others in other threads) seem to suggest that there is something wrong with those countries , at least it seems that way to me. There are many members of this forum who are not from the USA and I wonder if they are offended by these frequent xenophobic comments. :grumpy:

Nobody suggested anything except you.

Nobody said anything the least bit "xenophobic"

What some of us did do is reply to the thread started by the OP entitled "Chinese Fakes - New Alert" (or something like that)

Since this seems to be an obvious and long standing issue with the countries mentioned, some of us have chosen to ignore knives from that area.
You may or may not care about clones, I do.
I also care about a lot of other things associated with this topic, but that is not something we need to discuss in this thread.

Hope that's OK with you?

I'm a union pipefitter and I believe in buying American and supporting the local economy, when possible.

No offense to any country or person. I should have never even made the post. Sorry

I used to not buy any unless they were USA or Japan. Then I ran out of choices. I still won't buy China unless it's a disposable beater like an eland. The funny thing is there's people who support Burger but not Thompson.

These days you need to be ashamed of saying this^^^^

Sad.

I understood your post, and you are entitled to your opinion as is everyone else.

Drama Trolls are everywhere....ignore.
