Chris Reeve knives on (knifetests.com)

Nope, thats not why, and for some reason he won't tell us why...he's always dodged that question.

He wears it from start to finish from what I've been told, even in the parts were it is definitely not needed.

Ive got it noss's true identity is............... None other than Lynn Thompson.:D

I have had a CRK GB since the beginning of the year. This knife has been on two 5 day camps with me and is always with me at our cottage. I have used it for all the duties I use my knives for. Chopping slicing cutting. It's processed two farm permit deer with great results. A little big for the deer being the 7" but it did great. The edge has held up in outstanding fashion. I have never once thought of using it to pry with. I just don't use a knife that way. I have ZERO issues with this knife. If your making a decision to purchase or not to purchase ANY knife because of the Noss test. Well I don't what to say. At 48 years of age I never needed to use a knife in the fashion that these test are performed. As far as I'm concerned they are pure entertainment. The "JackAss" of knife videos. If your planning on buying a knife to use a Tactical Entry Tool or to demolish a brick house, or to take apart a car your doing it wrong! Watch the videos for what they are. Shock value. Nothing more.

;)

Because it's "hand crafted" And beautiful. Just Like a Katana. And it's Made for Cutting. It's not a Wood splitter. It's a Slicing piercing tool.

It is not hand crafted.

As for the other statement - so that is the reason to make it .25" thick?

That's what I thought.

So what are you trying to say? There aren't enough opinions?:);)

I love being able to sparingly voice my opinion here.

I love these Noss threads even more though. You get these people that come on here and they tell you how old they are, how much experience they have, how they use the knife "correctly" in an instructional way and then they turn into a 5th grader and cut down the knifetests.com guy down by calling him a clown or a jackass.

Some have such a blind passion for what the role of the knife is for.

Keep em coming "only for cutting camp", you entertain us all.

hi, man .
i am not say the green beret is a bad one in daily use.
one 15 bucks mora can do the same thing that as you mentioned above!
and there is a misunderstanding of the d-tests, the test is always a test
in ordinary life , all smart men use knife with tender care! no abuse here!
do what as you did .:D:D:D

The CR CB (sucks/is great). Nos (does/does not) know what he is doing and those tests are (bulls**t/great). That is knife (abuse/testing) at it's (best/worst).

Circle your answer then file in appropriate circular file for review by the dead horse

I'm sorry YOU misunderstood the post. My mention of "Jackass" was to the movie. Where people do some not so normal, strange stunts. Which is in MY opinion what the knife test reminds me of. I have watched every one of Noss's videos and I have posted that I find them entertaining. I have not made a negative comment about anyone here. Maybe it's my age. As for the shock value comment, it's exactly what I get out of the test. But I don't let a humorous fella in a hockey mask bashing a knife with a hammer sway my decisions on a purchase I have made or may make. I take much more stock in what members in here have written regarding their experiences with any particular knife.;)

That's what I thought.

Nobody is going to change their minds because their minds were already set even before entering this theread.

They are not here to be persuaded, but to persuade, and the irony is that is exactly what's on other party's mind as well.

Sometimes you just have the urge to express your opinion on the internet to some complete stranger who lives thousands of miles away, whether he likes/hates/despises it is not going to make you lose any sleep.

I suspect that's what Noss was thinking during those D-tests, because most likely he destorys knvies only for kicks and a few giggles, which is all good fun and he was kind enough to share it with us.

The irony of these D-tests is that by watching them you have opened the pandora's box and you can never forget them no more than you can re-seal the box, that is also the reason why threads like this never die, and Noss is now a household name on these forums.

Are these D-tests going to affect people's choices of knvies, maybe to a certain extent on certain people, the FFBM just seems to become more expensive over time even when the values of other Busses are affected by the recession. After all, the boy inside each and everyone of us would definitely want to get his hands on the fastest cars and the toughest knives.

Noss used to creep me out a little bit with the whole hockey mask thing and all the skulls and sh_t being over the top. Now after revisiting his site I think hes tuned that down a little bit and have come to enjoy it more for what it is. Is it "unbiased"- absolutely not. To rate a Mora Clipper on the same scale as an FFBM is silly. But, to do a truly unbiased knife test would be prohibitively expensive. On the other hand, if someone is going to charge $175+ for a survival knife, there is an implied if not direct claim that that knife will stand up better to abuse than a $15 Old Hickory butcher knife. Makers or fans of those makers should not get upset when someone pushes the envelope of reasonable use.

This reminds me of the endless Bear Grylls threads which always net in the same place: Don't like it? Don't watch it. If Noss wants to invest his time and $$ into the knifetest site then that's his biz and he should go for it.
