Hmm. Just noticed that "Due to extreme fire hazard and exceptional drought conditions, a campfire and BBQ ban is in effect. Covered gas grills may still be used." Anyone know if this is likely to change come late Dec? I know that this was somewhat of a dry season down south, but I'm assuming that there will be plenty of rain by the time we get there. Am I wrong?

Well, winter has finally arrived up here. Flurries. We had a good run of warm weather up till now.

Just started planning our X-Mas and New Year trip. Will likely be down at Cloudland Canyon state park in Georgia.

Climbing during the days and hunkering down by the campfire in eve. Love this part of the US.

Don't you know we are closing our borders to you foreigners?
;)'s as good as a nod....

Prolly you are...even her in the quite usually drought-free Northeast they are predicting a very dry winter. Last couple of Gatherings we weren't aloud to have fires....that's a first for me in the 30+ years I've lived here. Hopefully things will change for you....the changing climate appears to give no f¿¢ʞ$ about it's deniers (and I'm not talking about thread counts).

Hey guys, what have I been missing? Anything new and exciting I need to know about? :D
Only new thing looks like we all put you on the ignore/hide list. :)

Welcome back!

I'm not from Georgia, but winters can be pretty dry here. Always fun to have to run the sprinkler system on the brown grass to have to keep the roots alive.

Then again you occasionally get a really wet winter. But if it's still dry this late in the year I wouldn't hold my breath.

Snow. Today. Just a flurry, but it's the first of the year...

Confirmation of GSOM's comment about climate actually changing from the humans who actually go out in the world and measure such things. Yup.

Nothing new there LOL! I think I had myself on that list for a while!

uh, according to the legal counsel, you were banned a year ago. get lost :D

Not sure. It's been pretty bad: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/southern-fires-rage-416-million-now-living-drought-43444784

Dropped down to the mid 30s early this morning! Cold is cold.

Been crazy dry here! We need rain bad. I been carrying buckets around the property to water all the newer plants to keep them alive.

As far as burning... there may be some type of ban.. I'm not doubting it... But I'm also not looking it up. Ignorance is bliss. People Around the block are burning limbs right now.

The last couple fires we did have the water hose right there on standby just in case though.

I go pick up the new puppy from Jacksonville international airport at 11pm tonight.... About 2 hour drive away.. I'm excited about the dog but it's gunna be a long night.

20° last night, 25° now. Good, now, ♪ let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ♫...

Go see the doctor tomorrow, to hopefully be released to go back to work. Sitting around sucks.

Yeah man. I'd love to have a snow around my neck of the woods. Been way too long.

Ain't no snow here in Florida.... I live South of Worldwood. And he just got a little cold snap, as did we. I was just answering when you typed my name.
