Ain't no snow here in Florida.... I live South of Worldwood. And he just got a little cold snap, as did we. I was just answering when you typed my name.

Doc

Your name is lucky?

I've never been to Florida. I need too someday though. I've got a childhood friend that lives down there that I haven't seen in almost 20 years.

I like snow, but I'm hoping we don't get any until my truck is fixed.

I had to fix one of my trucks in the snow once. Swap the engine out Yeah that sucked! I was pissed because I hadn't had a chance to use the 4 by on it yet and I missed the snow. It was an old Chevy 71 Custom 10.

Picked up my Blazer and then went to another shop to see if they'd be cheaper. Car Doctor wanted $1300 for ball joints, front brake and alignment, this other shop wants about $750 for the same work. So I'm gonna drop it off Monday and get that done.

Wow, that's a huge difference. Lower hourly labor or lower part costs?

Probably both. The first place is got a really nice building and guys in uniforms and a professional website while the cheaper place looks kinda dumpy so I'm guessing all that image translates to higher operating costs.

The mechanic my family has used for as long as I've known has a shop that is disorganized at best but the work done is excellent and the price can't really be beat.

710 does some amazing work. Dubz said it...wow.

Anybody own a Ruger SR22? Thoughts on it?

Two of them. Bought one after we already had a Walther P22; then bought another. I like the Rugers better...heavier barrel, and got the second one with a factory threaded barrel. Really nice suppressed with a Liberty Essence or Surefire Ryder. Have shot the non-suppressed one in several Steel Challenge matches and it performs well.

But if you're talking about the SR-22 rifle (could Ruger make it more confusing), then I don't have one of those.

Yes the pistola, and thanks for that. Think I'm going to pick one up today.

I should also mention the SR22 pistol pairs up nicely with a 10/22 takedown. The pistol fits well in the top pocket of the storage bag. Get both with threaded barrels, add the suppressor of your choice and you are all set!

You'll love it. Mine is a great little shooter. Can be a bit particular about cycling some of the cheaper ammo, but stay with the better stuff and it's a lot of fun.

They are on sale for under 300 here for a few days, so early birthday present time!

Steel plate matches are a hell of a good time. Yep. Also spendy if shooting centerfire, more so when when I was doing it (and handloading for it!)
