If CS can come up with a sarong, I'm waiting for their next product--the tactical necktie! :D

I hope it comes in colors and patterns I like.

Wait until CS comes out with the tactical Thong. three guesses who would be modeling/demonstrating them:p

Seems I stand corrected! My apologies.:o I last visted the CS website a couple of weeks ago, and that bat wasn't on there! ...... I wonder how long it'll be before Mr. Thompson introduces the ladies stilleto-heeled shoes; with real stilleto blades built into the heel.

Yeah, I was a little shocked when I saw that bat, too. You'd better patent that "Lady's shoe" idea before LT and crew snag it for themselves. Oh, wait a minute, a legal patent has never stopped them before.;)

Best wishes,

Now, you know that the tactical ladies shoe can't be put out by CS until AFTER the owner of the company writes at a MINIMUM a year's worth of articles proclaiming how useless a ladies shoe is for self defense. Other people might tell you it'll work, but ol LT will set you str....OH WAIT!

Now CS has unlocked the "secret" to "High-Heel-Fu" and will be releasing it this fall. Classic tactical black, COMPLETE with a newly perfected lock that makes it far superior to any other tactical ladies shoe in the history of man! It's called the Digi-Lock, and becomes activated when you close your tactical retenion devices (your fingers- or DIGI-ts) around the tactical ladies shoe and LOCK them into place.

The SRK is worth every penny. Every knife company has its strong points. Just like I dont go to walmart for quality, but I will come outta there packing boxes of Tide and gallons of bleach for cheap. :)

hello people, my names Dan as you probably guessed. i have just got into cold steel and have bought a spike, warrior o tanto , triple action and am waitingon a hatamoto and magnum tanto 2. im thinking of changing the hatamoto to a sable but really love the taanto blades. katana,(or anyone else) do you think that the hatamoto, apart fromthe shape is any lesser a knife than the sable?if so why?

Wow. I can't believe I just read this whole thread.

I don't have a Cold Steel knife I dislike. At least not yet. My favorite is the Ti-Lite VI. I understand it's not for everyone. But it's a pretty darn sturdy knife and it fits my hands well. I also like my XL Serrated Tanto Voyager. Nice "workin' in the barn knife". Same goes for the Night Force (another barn knife) and it can more easily be closed with one hand than the Voyager, though it's not as sturdy. I won't go on. Just trying to show the trend. A lot of people say "You can get a better knife for the money." Ok, maybe that's true. But can I get a 4", 5", or 6" blade on that folding knife? Maybe I'm missing something, but where are the 5" Spyderco and Benchmade folders for $50? I'm looking for one. It seems to me that if you're looking for something much over 4" that can take a beating and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, your choice is Cold Steel or Cold Steel.

I did some work gutting houses in New Orleans over spring break and EDCed a 4" smooth-edge clip point voyager. The main thing it got used for was cutting elctrical wiring out of the walls. It served well but the edge is pretty beat. Still function but only marginally. I was wearing gloves when I used it so I can't tell you about the kraton ripping up my hands. Overall, it was damn sharp out of the box and I love the blade; plenty of belly for a really nice slice. The blade didn't seem to have that magical 'ninja essence of eternal sharpness' that was promised, but in all fairness I was cutting wire, not free-hanging meat or rope.

I also SD carry a 4-inch ti-lite. Nice blade, but the edge has several dinstinctively un-edgy spots on it, and the onyl real cutting I've used it for is mail and cellophane (that I remember). Oh, wait, I did stab a mattress a few times (sheepish grin), and probably hit springs.

So the AUS8 works fine as long as you dont try to use it as a hacksaw, in my experience.

Besides, the ti-lite is purdy. and I can whack you good with it if I don't want/ dont have the time to deploy the blade.

Well, eBay sells about 20 Spydercos for $50.00 or less every day. I respectfully submit that you clearly have a choice of Spyderco in the price range specified.

Try stabbing a car with another knife or two before you decide the first knife you ever stabbed a car with must be wonderful.... (Any knife can penetrate a car; they are not much thicker than tin cans.)

My Nimravus Cub was described in Blade magazine several years ago as being able to "field dress a Honda". I have no desire to field dress a Honda, and I if I did, I would use a maul, an impact gun, and a crow bar, not my Nim Cub. And how do you prepare a Hondas meat? Sear the foam seats over an open flame? Those seat covers have to be hot and crispy, leave them on until you're ready to eat. Why do people write stuff like that?

I guess because my noob butt got cised for a Nim Cub reading that article...

Spyderco doesn't make a folder with a 5" blade that I'm aware of. Take a look at my post again:

Why does Cold Steel get such a bad rap on this board? I've got the Recon 1 Tanto that I carry daily and the Gunsite II I wear when we go out and I have to dress up a little.

JUST DO A SEARCH!!!!!:D

This topic has been beating to the dirt many times and once by myself. The threads exsist just look for them

There are a few main reasons, they knock/rip off designs, that is the major one. They also radically overhype their knives, and people like to make fun of Thompson.

Some CS knives are very good quality, some are good quality, and a few models are less than that! ..... To put it mildly.
