Cold Steel= flat out liars

No disrespect, but that has little to do with any of this. Yeah, its different, and different is sometimes good. This case does not fall into the sometimes category considering its contributing to an allready negative outlook on knives, which at one point in time maybe not as far in our futures as we'd like to think, may lead to us just not being able to have them. At the very least, it will almost certainly lead to some more restrictive legislation, which noone needs. Mind, im not saying this is just because of the advertisement, just that its an unneeded contributing factor. If I felt this "DIFFREND STUFF" was a good idea, id support it...but to me, its not. Just because a man does something different or new, does not under any circumstances mean its right. Look at Hitler...never had a holocaust before then had we? (well yes, but its the same with this kind of advertisement....been around a long time, so its not really "new")

Well, this isn't really a surprise to me, but it just pisses me off. I was looking around at cold steel's site and I saw their "kukri", so I decided to have a look. I copied and pasted this with no alterations.-------The Gurkha Kukri’s VG-1 San Mai III¨ blade will out-chop any factory or handmade knives; including swords twice its size, even expensive, hand forged Japanese Katanas. It’s the heaviest Kukri on the market.------------See anything wrong? Ummmm... How about everything?!?! Their kukri weighs 22 oz. I'm not so sure:jerkit:, but I think that Himalayan Imports makes Ang Khola Khukuries up to 30 inches long and weighing in excess of like 5 pounds...... So, what do you guys think?

Just walk on.........nothing to see there....
Just switch channels if you don't like what you see....
Don't bother, you know he's wrong, let another sncker fall for his jokes....

Yeah, but if you want a knife that you can stick though your car's hood or if you are constantly surrounded by beef briskets that need to be cut in half hanging on chains ...

Cold Steel is the way to go.

I agree with you John79, and this topic has been almost literally beaten to death in past threads. But yeah they are liars.

I'm not trying to act like this is something new, they have been lying for a LONG TIME now. All I am saying, is that they have lied in more subtle ways, I mean their claim about having the world's strongest and sharpest knives is a lie, but to prove it's a lie, I would have to do a test, with the cold steel knife on-hand. With this whole "kukri" weight and chopping power thing, I can see just by clicking and typing for 30 sec, that they are downright wrong.

they have lied in more subtle ways

That's a good point. It's hard to see how "It’s the heaviest Kukri on the market" could be interpreted as anything but plain ol' false advertising. Perhaps a Cold Steel representative will come along and explain another way that claim could be interpreted.

The funniest thing would be to show up to a show he's at, and take his "Cold Steel" challange. Over the years, others have offered and he's declined or some other hijinx has happened.

Exactly, I have a CS Ghurka Kukri and there other model Khukri and the HI's are flat out thicker, stronger and overall better. And thats just thier AK's, havent even gotten into the heavy hitters.

The HI Churwa at 18" and 34 oz isnt even on the big end of the spectrum(not small) and it will woop em.

Bob thats a great idea, but he would probably pussy out.

Really not nice to call someone .. anyone..... a b*****d ....
