Cold Steel= flat out liars

Guys pretending to be all virtuous and principled, and then blaming Cold Steel for the problems of the universe. You know, outsourcing, patent law, truth in advertising, child molestation, cattle mutilation.

Do not forget all the "Crop Circles" since you know it was them. :D

I saw an old pic of Lynn Thompson in an issue of Knives Illustrated from 1990. He was actually thin, and looked quite sane :D.

One of my biggest gripes on these threads is they should be started in W&C or moved there quickly.

actually, if this thread has knife content then it can remain here, so here goes.

My Cold Steel Master Hunter can take this beast on and win, all by itself, whatcha think of that:

Some Cold Steal knives are well made (misspelling intentional ;)). Those were well made by Camillus, for the most part. The fact that Lynn Thompson is a goofball driving his knives through car hoods and hacking away at meat with his .357 in his other hand, well, that tends to distract from his few quality knives.

hello everyone,
i heard a whole lot of bad talk on cold steel knives. are their knives really that bad? i have a folding voyager and my brother has a kukri. we have not
put them thru the wringer but so far they seem alright.
we also watched the soild proof video, seemed pretty impressive to me.
anyway, am i missing something here?

Must be good if they say so on the video eh !!!!

Being serious I don't think it is their knives as much as their way of advertising that gets peoples backs up !!!!

Replace "Cold Steel" with Ford, and then post it on a Maybach/Rolls Royce forum.

That's why.

I don't think that is quite fair. There are many on this forum that have Cold Steel products and are quite happy with their performance....Fonly with his Master Hunter springs to mind.
I have also read in this months Tacticalknives Mag that Coldsteels new stainless steel out performed 440C which for a cheap knife is no easy task !!!

Yeah sorry I agree, anyone watching anything good on the box ?

What beer y'all drinkin ?

Depending on the blade geometry, that's quite an easy task.

cold steel knives are good mid level knives, the company hypes them up a lot. i have owned and have gifted quite a few, they give good service, 6 years ago i gave 5 spyderco enduras and 5 cold steel voyagers to some professional hunters in south africa, they knew the enduras but had never had any experience with the cold steel large voyagers. well after a week they got to love both blades and were very complimentary of the cold steel folders. these guys use a knife a lot, and i figgure if they dont have a problem with the knife then the blade is ok.

All of cold steel carbon V blades were made by Camillius knife co. which made all the Becker knives, good quality products. I belive some of the more P C type people have an issue with the cold steel challange dvd's more then with the knives IMHO :D
