Cold Steel= flat out liars

I just dont like cold steal since they ripped off the okapi design , sling crap at the original for being "mystery metal" and claim their stainless and plastic version is heaps better ..

and since the canadian belt knife I bought 1/2 way believing their spiel about it turned out to be an excellent fruit n vege knife but little else

I watched clips of a tubby guy slashing bits of meat knives and showing off the results as if they were impressive ... it probably is too to folk who havent killed skinned cleaned and sectioned up a animal before ... FWIW , his stunts can be done with the rip top lid off a soup can , it doesnt prove the durability of an edge or quality of a blade just doing it once

well , thats my effort to get things back on track
 
Hi Folks, I'm new here, so please forgive me if I goof over what I'm about to say, but isn't there some general forum for non-knife subjects where this thread more appropriately belongs? BTW, I'm hugely interested in the issue of export integrity coming out of China as it affects the health and well-being of countries that import Chinese products. So, if we take this thread to the appropriate forum, I would definitely appreciate anyone who would like to share their viewpoint. Thanks.

Hi, welcome to Bladeforums!

Yes, we have better places to discuss this. First of all, we have a Political Arena for serious discussions of politics and international affairs.

Then we have a forum on Knives, News, and Your Views which was supposed to be for opinions about knives in the news but has become a kind of junior political arena for topics straying too far from the propriety the original forum requires.

Beyond that, we have a Whine & Cheese forum where off-color discussions generally end up. I was tempted to move the off-topic portion of this thread there.

We also have The Pirates Cove, which is like Whine & Cheese but more so, for paying guests only, as in Upgrade your forums experience, and help support this site. :D
 
Please feel free to delete any links I posted that you feel offends. My position was not one of being a bigot or racial as I have friends of many races and people are people. My issue was one about basic human rights and animal rights that I feel is very poorly handled by the government in China. Maybe somebody knows more than I about this but from what I've read and watched in documentaries the workers are treated very poorly and paid very little.
Companies like Cold Steel which take their jobs to China to turn a huge profit don't receive anymore of my business. It's nothing to do with anything to me besides the way the workers there are treated and paid. I get rather passionate about human and animal rights and apologize for doing so on this forum.
 
I bought a new Cold Steel AK47 and was very disappointed in the quality. The blade release is a very poor design and I had to send the knife back.

You are going to find yourself unable to purchase much. Most products today are made from components that are produced in China. For example, that computer you are sitting in front of.

wanna talk about animal rights? great, start a thread in community somewhere, dont try and hijack this thread to take some sort of moral high ground about china's practices.

I own a number of cold steel knives and all of them are quality knives. They make execellent products. My cold steel AK 47 has fit and that rivals my benchmade knives and it is super smooth opening. Sorry Cold Steel where is up there in quality whether you like the companies owner or not the products are top rate and properly priced. What is this BS about using the suggested retail price as a price quote on a product no one pays suggested retial for anything so the Slack Sable is not almost as expensive as a quality custom folding knife it is about half the price

That blade on the Black Sable does very closely resemble the blade of the Brian Tighe Stick now that I compare. the shape is very simular, very uncanny resemblence I have to admit. Even though from what I have heard Sable is a quality a## Ki##ing knife I am going to reconsider my plans to buy it. Maybe another Cold Steel model something that has more Cold Steel originality. I do like the Tighe Stick and would buy it but it is (like all quality non-mas produced custom folders) priced at it's value
 
you wont find many original designs with CS stuff, they seem to love to copy others.

Do you have any damn idea why using graphical "shock images" to politicize cultural food choices in the name of "animal rights" leads only to violence, hate crimes, and actual harm inflicted to HUMAN BEINGS?

All of which is a moot point in the first place; it's not as if we buy food from the Chinese food industry, much less the people who causes the food atrocities. Boycott the right things, and ensure that fighting the good fight should never involve blatant cultural prejudice.

:thumbup: Sometimes I wish some people* would just come out and use racial slurs instead of burying them in as logical garble.

Of course, I know that violates terms of use, but I just get this distinct feeling reading some posts that there are slur words being deleted, replaced by some political ideology, or other reason not to support a specific country.

*I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, it's just a feeling I sometimes get when reading some of the threads on BF.

Its value being approximately $55.00 more expensive than the Cold Steel version for the real Brian Tighe Stick over on KnifeArt.

Seriously, if you like the knife that much, you can have the original Custom version for only $55.00 more than a clone production version. :D

It is well past time for some folks to understand that political discussion is not appropriate in this particular forum on BFC.

It was anything that breathes, anything that moves would have included any type of vehicle and that is plain silly. Maybe it was poorly worded, but at least it was not poorly quoted
