pretty sweet kris sword, some of the nicest engravings i have seen..

I held one of those and it was remarkable. I was surprised how nice it actually felt in hand. I visualized it as cumbersome and unwieldly but it wasn't at all. I didn't get it either but it was sure nice to hold it.

yeah that had a nice bowie companion when it came out, a few days before on the DOTD

Awesome blade, so unique it almost doesn't seem real, lucky whoever got it. And damn Taco now I'm double glad you won that kluvk, you my good sir need more quality blades in your life to play with. Will be ready to post my collections in the coming weeks hopefully.

I should have all the payments done by mid summer :D I will try to post the gang as a group here

Here is a little tourist khuk I picked up. It's about 15" overall. The handle is pretty small compared to my HI stuff and I've included a comparison shot with a 16.5" WWII. Now I can really see how the HI knives are adapted for larger hands. The F&F of the knife is actually very good. The heat treat doesn't compare to HI but it's a nice well-made knife.

any idea who made this sword?? its marked "Philippines" and the serial number is 1003..looks similar to some rittersteal blades..unsure of origin would love to know..
not sure if the sheath is original(my guess is no) little more flexibility in the blade than what im used to in a katana, the blade is 27inches..
first test cut sliced clean through a 2 liter with little effort, blade still needs to be resharpened..

The wood on the sheath is sure a near perfect match. Could be the real thing. I don't know nothing about it though. Other than it's nice of course.

yeah looks pretty cool, I imagine its from wherever it is marked , so probably phillipines mid eighties around the time of samurai sword craze?

with it having a serial# im hoping i can track down the maker of the sword
seems like i saw something similar coming from iberia in the Philippines years ago but cant find any info on a similar sword..

I like it too. It seems like there is (or at least there was) a thriving knife industry in the Philippines. I've always wanted to add something from there to my collection like a kris or barong, but even small pieces go for a ton of money.
