Come to the Snark side

Man, getting time to post in here is getting harder and harder and trying to keep up with the snark. "my the snark be with you!"
Answering emails is getting c-c-crazy! Got something finally finished with the new becker handles. When day light comes out, I will snap some pictures.

Think it's going to be a mix and match of different stuff. Eno hammock, Hennessey tarp, Eno atlas straps, and no bug net yet.

Spike thanks for the heads up. As for your ammo question: I think Federal and Hornaday make M1 specific ammo. The increased pressure of the newer loads decreases the safety factor engineered into the garand action. So technically you could shoot modern ammo but with a higher risk of damage to you or the action. Not sure who sells one but an adjustable gas plug my be the answer. I know Sadlak makes great stuff for the M1a and its the same action so maybe give them a call. Pretty smart and friendly folks there.

I like the BK2 setup JD. Id pick that up for the wife if I didnt know someone who made knives. Lol.

Watched Cyborg on Netflix last night. I don't think I've ever seen a movie with more knives in it. The gratuitous amount of AHGGGGG'ing at the end had me rolling though. You go Van Dam!

Got a question, how do you guys feel about WIP threads? I'm working on a few fancier ornate pieces for Blade. Pretty much will be putting the finishing touches on one of them today. So, that means I will be starting on the next one soon. Im thinking it will be a coffin handled brass back, I have to make one to top the last one I made. Anyway, I thought about making a start to finish thread on it on my subforum, but im talking about a thread that might drag out all the way till June. Too much? Do you think it would lose to much interest dragging out that long? Cause id hate to put the effort into the thread if that was the case.

It will make me drool.
And then forget about it for a few months.
And then come back to the thread when I've remembered it, see all the progress, and drool again.

It would be pretty cool to see. I would even say just a series of pics at the end when it's done would be cool as well. Either way I will keep an eye out.

Luv 'em!

Nope!

As a novice mod'er, with more desire than skill and equipment, I'm fascinated by the process and appreciate the opportunity to learn.

So bring it on!

Thank God the scum that murdered him is getting punished.

Justice for Chris Kyle

While I'm glad that justice is happening, and a murderer is going behind bars, I have to wonder about it. There IS a Chris Kyle controversy, and for what seems like good reason, for example the Jesse Ventura vs. Chris Kyle defamation lawsuit.
Further, I have to wonder what impact the movie American Sniper had on the trial, a movie that painted Chris Kyle as some sort of Captain America.

Just let me know how much I need to bring to Blade for that brass back.....

It's a shame what happened and unfortunately we most likely will never know why. PTSD? From Balad? That would be a pretty big stretch. Haiti? In 2010. Doubt it. Who knows.
Chris Kyle was a great person. Sure he was in the right spots at the right time but he also went out of his way to help veterans. I don't know who Littlefield was but he was with him helping a vet so I would assume he's g2g.
Kyle and Ventura were both soldiers but Ventura is now a politician (nuff said). Sad situation all around.

Not the prettiest cut, but i got her done.... Sober even :D

And everyone said we were crazy to even talk about it. Ha! :p

WIPS are great fun to read, but a huge pain to make, write up, edit, post and reply to. I'm sure having a shop partner to deal with taking pics and video will help a lot. They definitely draw a lot of attention, and that's mostly a good thing.

My advise is to get the whole thing done and post it all at once, or you may find the whole thread chock-full of questions and "tips" and second-guesses - that makes it an even worse pain to make and not much fun to read through.

In other news, we've got some family stuff going on that's not very much fun, so I may not be as snarktasticly prolific as usual for a little while. Wish us luck.

Nice setup L4NE4.

Great picture Jonny!

Nice matching sets 710!

Hope things work out James!!

Everything on this page can be summed up by this famous movie quote.

"Some people say you know them cant believe, Jamaica we have a bobsled team."

Thanks.
