Flame on, flame off, I don't care. I just like knives.
Oh well, I plan on getting an XM-18 anyway.
I already have an Umnumzaan, 2 Striders...and I don't care about the opinions of other people much at all.

*dusts off his shameful Microtechs*
I don't give a darn about the controversy with Kershaw & Microtech. I'd own a Socom Elite in a heartbeat if I could afford one right now. They look so cool to me.
I hope the production hinderer is a 3" variation
I'm hoping to get more XM-18's and XM-24's out in 2013...including a new production model! Hopefully that will help the supply/demand thing. In the past we have sold direct to some former military...but its really tough because like even our current policy some people abuse it to just flip the knives...so just like the lottery sales at shows..there is no easy answer...I know your saying yes there is...make more knives...and believe me we are! Its just that supply just cant keep up with demand...and for that I am very grateful to my customers! Thanks to all of you for your support!
Rick Hinderer
I think peoples opinions and reviews are helpful. I love hinderers but i'd love them even more with out the secondary market prices. hard to really use a knife that cost twice the msrp. hey hinderer crew what about us little guys who have an average every day job to feed our family's and isn't it us the tax payers that pay salaries for l.e.o firefighter's ect, ect, My opinion is most these people buy them and resell them at a higher cost. how many of you crime fighters and firefighters actually use them everyday? rolex john is a great guy and even though he made his points they are only opinions and he shouldn't be threatened or banned for this. I today carry my hinderer as tomorrow and the rest of my life. best knife on the market and a very functional knife. the sharpest thing anyone can own is their mind!!!!!
Oh man, that's comedy gold right there! How many Hinderer's have you flipped for profit? Yeah...I thought so.
what i do with my hinderers is my problem sir!!!!!! and with the cost of these who can blame me sir!!!! I have not flipped like you say sir. but like i said everyone is entitled to their own opinions. sometimes i buy a nib hinderer just to get the scale and replace it with one i dont like and sell it. but then again it's my hard earned money and mine to do with what i like best buying ,and selling and my new found love trading hinderers. take care. also

I really like your story & your job. Makes me wish Hinderers had a carbide glass breaker. The glass breaker on the umnumzaan isn't carbide but in an emergency situation it would work. I'm sure you carry something separate just for breaking windows though.I carry one. I have also pulled it from my pocket on more than one occasion to extricate people trapped in their vehicles after collisions. Specifically, I have used it to deflate side row airbags, and to cut stuck seat belts. I believe that those are two of the many uses for which it was manufactured and for which it was made available directly to first responders.

Nothing against the XM's, but what makes them more suited for this application than any other knife? How about a Benchmade Triage with its hook for cutting seatbelts? Or the Hinderer design Gerber rescue knife? No risk of cutting the patient that way.
