Concerns About Survive! Business and Misleading Lead Time Estimates

I lost patience with Survive a long time ago and was about run out of town with pitchforks and torches for voicing my displeasure. I have no kind feelings or well wishes for Survive but I do hope that their customers and fans don't lose money.

Survive has not posted here since 10/9/16. Apparently Ellie has given up on "Damage Control" or even posting the Friday update. For that reason alone this forum should be shut down. Another idea would be for Survive to appoint Silver Needle as a moderator and give him a knife for his trouble. He seems to be about the last rational fan here.

In any case Survive made promises that they failed to deliver on. November is their big month (kind of like July was going to be). They still don't have the 4.7s out that they promised by last Christmas. That's a lie not a miscalculation.

Talk is cheap and I don't believe the "Friend of a friend of the heat treat guy" story but I have long wondered if the seconds were seconds at all or just another way to get new money instead of fulfilling existing commitments. It's also very concerning that they don't have anything being cut, ground, or heat treated. Seems to indicate that they owe money to their subs or don't have money to keep up production. It's also concerning that the Scandi 4.1s have suddenly been deemed worthy and are for sale. Seems like a last grasp for cash as well as yet another side project instead of working on paid for knives.

Hmmm... ever thought that survive knives is blocking people that troll post on their fan page and deleting comments? I recall some customers posting print screens of corresponding emails with SK. Pretty obvious we have some tremendous Fanboys of this company here and very disgruntled customers as well. We're not going to get anywhere with this they might as well just lock this thread all the way down and keep this in their archives for possible legal issues in the future

I guess they could have deleted your posts, but why delete only half the conversation? The guy who was replying to you still as his comments there. There's a few others who have been annoyingly persistent and their posts are still there. In here, I'd rather see some direct action be taken towards these concerns than just having the thread locked.

It would help if you stuck to facts, though.

Ha! Thanks, Conquistador. I can think of worse things I'd do for a free GSO. With that said, I don't really think there's anything I can do here without being a SURVIVE! employee.

I know a few months ago your displeasure was in the minority and the company was easier to defend. I'm not sure what needs to happen or not happen for a company to lose their spot here. Is this place more for the customers? In normal circumstances does there need to be company involvement?

So what you trying to say is you think that companies that have done business what survive knives and Affiliates should come to a public forum disclose information that's none of our business? Yeah.. real smart. Instead of all this going back and forth it's quite obvious the SK is not going to recover from this and people should just go ahead and cancel orders and ask for refunds and close this thread. That seems the most logical to me.

As long as people aren't making things up, the ongoing discussion might yet get us some answers.

I've noticed over the past couple of years that a lot of members here take this forum way too seriously. almost like their attorneys. They demand evidence...they will contact knife manufacturers print screen call people out like their in trial. My source has no reason to lie at all. It really wasn't that serious to him it was more of an inside joke between me and him. I thought all of this was hilarious because of how they operate their business is a freaking joke. I really didn't get pissed off until I came to this thread. I still stand by my suggestion SK needs to complete their current production knives that are actually in production that they have steel scales heat treatment and what not. After those orders are complete all the other knives that have not been cut they need to cancel those orders and issue a refund immediately. They need to close shop get a loan and start over.

Calm down.

Time to take a break.

Another pre-order and another LE run from supposed leftovers while pushing back (again) every other pre paid order? Two Quick cash grabs and right before the holiday season, what an absolutely amazing coincidence.

26 pages of customer concerns, 26k+ views, and the owner can't even deign to spare 3 minutes from his latest cash grab/sprint run idea to chime in to allay his customer's ever growing concerns. That shows exactly how
valuable customers are to Survive, as in not at all. Complaints? Quick, distract them and offer something new. You can only run the dog and pony show for so long.

Guy, Thank you for taking 4.3k in various pre-orders from us and delivering to date...absolutely nothing:thumbup:, I truly appreciate it. I will be able to write it off as a loss in January and now I have an unexpectedly large vacation bonus this year, so thanks for that.

The AG of Idaho, as well as the FTC are currently very interested in Survive's business model, just not as potential customers. Guess what will happen if/when the FTC starts levying their near absurd fine structure,
which currently has a max of 40k per violation, at Survive for their 'innovative' business practices?

Good luck getting a refund at that point.

By all means though Guy, keep hiding in your shop with your head buried in the sand ignoring the people you have taken money from and churning out those 'Seconds' and other quick cash runs while continually delaying all of the old paid in full orders far beyond delivery date. I have a few of those supposed seconds with matching firsts ready to ship off for inspection just as soon as the last 4.7 from the auction house shows up this week.

Just remember you get what you give in life, you continually lie/make excuses, misrepresent products and delivery, and generally crap on your customer base then please do not assume that they cannot, or will not, do something about it.

One more thing: silver, grog, revolver, chiral, standard and the other hardcore fans, I like you guys. I like my S!K knives. I like this forum. I am sad that it has become this negative. But I sincerely believe that S!K is running their business into the ground and lying to their customers. Considering that I was a public advocate for S!K in the past, and knowing what I know now, I will not quietly sit on the sidelines while S!K sells knives under false pretenses.

You're a good dude also ncrockclimb. Believe me when I say that you're not alone when it comes to being concerned with how things are going here. I was a pretty diehard fan up until last year when the 4.7's didn't deliver around Christmas or even by this Summer. The forecasted shipping promises that aren't met have pushed me away from making any future purchases until they get their shit straight and meet a deadline.
I only have a 3.5 on order so my concern isn't at the same level as others. I'm willing to wait it out and I'm really hoping to see some change because most of us don't want them to fail.
Right now it would be helpful if they would just lay it all out on the table and tell us the truth. It may piss off a bunch of people, but it can also ease a lot of the tension going on. This is almost as bad as going to a doctors office and having to wait 2 weeks for results.
I'm hoping that one day this forum can go back to what it used to be, but for now, I'll be spending my money and time elsewhere. I've been needing to expand my horizons anyways, and there are plenty of other companies out there that are producing quality items without the chaos.

First alchemy, you are putting out some really heavy serious accusations. Just a question, why haven't you posted it in the Good Bad and Ugly forum? Isn't that where that kind of discussion belongs? Not that I am telling you where to post just asking..

My question, WHY would SK! sell a perfectly good knife as a second for easy cash when they could sell the SAME perfectly good knife as "Preorder" and at at full price! Since in both cases they pay up front.

Cheers, bro! I always enjoyed your posts here and would like to continue to seeing you around wherever you land.

Easy because if they sell at full price that means they have to fulfill all the preorder sales. Quick cash flow. How about purposely misplacing logos on the knives but nothing wrong at all with the steel? Yes that's happened LOL

A few things.....

There is not currently a company rep moderating this forum. We aren't exactly sure how this happened but we'll try and fix it.

Behavior in this thread needs to fall in line with overall site rules. This means name calling, insults and other assorted douchebaggery will not work.

Report posts you think are breaking rules. However, we are not interested in taking sides or silencing those with complaints so don't report a post just because you don't agree.

I got so tired of waiting for the GSO6 to be made I bought a Bravo 1.5 . Hopefully we'll get our knives , but damn , two Christmases will have passed by soon enough since ordering it. I wish I had known , I would have done things differently .

Are you saying that rhetorically or as what you know to be happening? I really would appreciate a heads up .

THAT JimmR, is exactly THE million dollar legit point and focus you are left with once you throw out all the other back-forth arguments on both sides. Bottom line, it is not legal or fair to Influence a Sale with providing false shipment information at the point of sale and leading up to the point of sale, and also AFTER the point of sale if it hasn't delivered. That's not my opinion, that's the LAW!. So we are well past the back-forth arguments of business model survivablity conjecture, were are now at the point of just asking SK to please do what is required by law.

Ditto. If the AG and FTC are actually getting involved, I'd like to know about it. I only have one knife on order but I've been round and round trying to get it shipped. I sure hope it gets here before the SHTF.
