Condor Golok, when's it going to be in stock again?

There has been an order for 100 (!) goloks from one of the major distributors. They are making the handles today in El Salv. Once they get finished with these and ship them over, that should really help the problem. They only ordered small numbers of all the other knives in the Bushcraft line though. Keep yelling at Smokey for the other stuff too!

There are sheaths for the Golok in production as well, though I can't confirm if they are going to be coming in with that order or not.

Thanks for the info.

I am hoping that when I see this in stock I will be able to pull the trigger. I almost did last time, but if I would have had to wait this long I am glad I didn't. (Don't mind waiting, but I am impatient, sometimes.)

Joe, I am a bit confused and hope you can shed some light. So 100 were ordered from a "certain" distributor and now condor is making more goloks to fill this order. Questions:

- Condor was not in the process of making more goloks prior to this order due to lack of orders from distributors?
- Will only businesses supplied by this distributor receive stock from this run?
- You keep telling us to "yell at moteng and smokey" - can you explain this - not even sure who they are?

I am very interested in getting my hand son one of these and any clear direction on how to do this / who to oder from would be greatly appreciated. If you could even direct me as to where is best to place my order to ensure it gets filled, that would be appreciated also. I have had an order in at a place I trust / used int he past but it seems they are far down the list of receiving any.

I pose these questions to you as you seem to very close / tied in / part of this company.

I'm another one who has been patiently waiting for knifecenter to produce. Starting to think I need to give up on this one.

I don't know anything about what knifecenter has or has not done. I know that Condor has been working their tail off to keep up with the demand. They have been making Goloks previously and are working feverishly to get these new ones in, but demand has been extremely high. I'm not a dealer so I can't really answer to many "why does x have it and X doesn't" questions.

Moteng is one of the larger knife distributors (they sell to businesses, not direct to consumer) so a good way to get them into stores is to yell at the distributor to actually order more so stores can buy them so you can buy them. Smoky Mountain Knife Works is the largest direct-to-consumer seller out there, and they have a massive customer base.

I work at a knife store, so I called our rep. at Moteng and he actually said he wasn't sure why they hadn't reordered. He made sure that was taken care of and 100 were placed on order. These should be trickling out to stores soon. :)

Joe, my questions have nothing to do with Knife center and any answers you could provide to them would be greatly appreciated:

I am confused by your responses in that some refer us to yell at the distributors to order more, and others state that we are waiting for condor to make more? They are only filling orders of certain distributors or of a certain volume?

Not trying to call you out at all Joe, but you seem intimately involved with this company in thread after thread, but seem not really to be able to provide any direct answers here.

I simply wish to purchase this product and am looking for advice on the best way to go about doing that. That questions is directed at Joe and anyone else that can help:thumbup:

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am involved with the company Klammer. I design them. I am not involved with making or selling them. I can't answer questions that I don't know the answers for. As far as I know, they are only filling orders that are made. Right now is not a good time to have surplus stuff of anything. The orders from the distributors and the other company are very few. They are making the knives according to those orders. Very Simple. So, those companies need to put bigger orders in so people can get their knives. Hence, why you should ask these other companies to get them.

One company place has JUST put in 100 orders for Goloks. They are making them as fast as they can in El Salvador. These are made by hand. No I do not know of any of the dates when they will become available.

I just got off the phone with knifecenter. They were very polite, but don't seem to have any idea when they'll have the product. They're claiming that the holdup is on Condor's end. So, I called Condor and left a voice mail to their national sales manager asking for an information and an update. If I hear anything worthwhile I'll post it. I suggest that anyone who's still waiting for their order also make a few calls.
 
update: There was a quality control problem . They are almost done reworking the entire golok stock. It sounds like they are getting close to sending the new shipment out.

Hey Guys,

I know there have been questions on who has what. I was told that Smokey just got a shipment today, with everything including the new Bolo, Bushcraft Basics, Bushlore, Golok, and Kukri Machete. Though there may not be the knives on their site, you could call and ask now, with the item numbers from the newly launched site. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and inquire about it.

Good news! I've been kicking myself since Blade for not picking up a bunch of the new Condor stuff when I had the chance. If I'd known then what I know now- I would have stocked up, and made a killing on the exchange to boot!

God yeah it is! Must have been updated today, since I was looking at the site yesterday and it was still the old layout!:thumbup::thumbup:
 
Anyone get their Goloks yet? I'm still getting the weekly e-mails from KnifeCenter saying that it's still out of stock.
 
I don't have mine, and now I see they are special order only from where I ordered it..... What is going on? Do they want to sell these great tools or not? I would think they would have been ready for a sales rush, or at least ramped up production to meet the need....any new info?
