My parents had a Schnauzer. They kept me from having a dog...and when I went away to university...first thing they did was get a dog. (Not sure what it says about me.) He lived to a ripe old age.Never. And yes, an old schnauzer.

They were bred to kill vermin and they're good at it.I should have included people. He's never bit bit a person but he has killed more than few groundhogs, squirrels, and possums. Only the latter of which I didn't appreciate
