I was giving him the benefit of the doubt too.

My 5 year old beat up CS Recon 1 doesn't look that bad and I have abused the heck out of it.

I'm not saying this kid shouldnt have to pay for getting the knife fixed and I'm also not siding with him but...

The owner of a company calling a customer (no matter if its deserved or not) a liar brings everything down a notch IMO...If thats what happened.

A spade is a spade.

Congrats on 1000 posts.

After looking at you pics I would say its one of three things. Number one your locking bar was cut wrong or they took to much off the lock face when they fitted it. Number two there is a flat spot on the stop pin from maybe flicking it open and if there is then the stop pin was not heat treated properly. Number Three the stop pin was ground under size. But any way to me who cares he makes enough knives to eat the cost to fix it. I have never returned a knife to CRK but I would stand my ground and it I had to I would take him to small claims court. You should get what you pay for unless you altered the knife some how then you are own your own.

So you shit on one of the most reputable knife company's reputation by hiding your ADD with 'fixing up' your own knives. Call Chris Reeve a liar when he said you abused your knife, and now you want the forum's empathy? I think you should change up your first post in this thread and apologize there first.

It certainly looks to me that the knife was abused. The damage to the washers alone convinces me of that.

He altered the knife.

Ill take that as a compliment, lol.

You really shouldn't. It just further illustrates that you think you know about knives but you really don't. Whatever you've been taught or have assumed about use and care is dead wrong. Between tv, movies, and idiot oral tradition I can see how it happens. Knives don't get spit sharpened on smooth rocks, they're not prybars or screwdrivers, and you generally can't beat the crap out of them. Every non knife person I've come across whi carries a pocket knife has made all these mistakes and their knife is all but falling apart and completely dull.

Seeing more and more of that around here...

CR called me a liar learn to read. Next learn your disorders ADD has nothing to do with that, its called OCD, and who says i want the forums empathy.

Its called a joke, i preferred to say i will take it as a complement instead of saying **** off.

Edited for unacceptable language which was removed.

In my opinion a knife costing 400$ should have a no questions asked warranty and replace it if it fails under any circumstances, abused or not. But that's my opinion. I love being able to spend 100$ on a RC knife and have no worries. That's how it should be.

That's a pretty ignorant first post.

You just need to give it up man. You've clearly lost this one.
