CRKT just blew my freaking mind.

The handle design gives a food three finger grip for me, pinky gets left out and has to go back to the flat. Not ideal for me.

My pinky set right on the corner before the flat. I just wish it was like the mah designed customs it was based on and had a more flat grip without the cut outs and raised flat.

I agree, mine had amazing lock up and flipping. I also think it's one of the nicest looking production knives out there. I just didn't like the ergos. Plus it rusted after like a day of absolutely no use, just sitting in the closed box.

Great design and execution for a good price though, I'm just really picky about ergonomics.

In my home country lots of guys my age have my hand size. At least that's what I saw with my army buddies.
As you can see the handle would be long enough if they wouldn't have wasted real estate at the bottom with this corner which digs into my pinky...

If not for the lack of identifying scars, I'd think you stole a picture of the knife in my hand. That's nearly exactly how it was for me

Wish I would have had a dremel at the time I purchased one.

I also find the native is a good fit for my large hands. I'm hoping the Chokwe will be as well with its simple grip style.

Speaking as a 22 year old, and from a college with 20,000 other people my age, I can honestly say I can count on one hand the number of times I've met people with hands as big as yours
Have you met all 20.000?
The college in California which I went to last had barely any of us Caucasians. Among the few of them which I met there were some with seriously big hands. The biggest guy was a bear and I think his grandpa came from the Netherlands to America. Most also couldn't wear "one size fits most" hats or Oakley sunglasses. Luckily there is Wiley X and other brands.
In India, Singapore, and China (haven't been anywhere else in Asia yet) I stand out, no denying that. In the US (not the colleges or IT companies) and Europe I feel like average. Average in my generation. My parents and grandparents generation however are significantly smaller. Not like Medieval small, but close :D

The scars are photoshopped in. So they are actually your hands
Chokwe? Gotta google that. Thank you:thumbup:

thats pretty sad, this is one of crkts best knives and its already discontinued:thumbdn:

There still should be some in shops.
But on the side note - this is a bad side of internet-based commerce.
Brick and mortars shops bought smaller or bigger stocks, so when product goes out of productions there are still many available. With internet, they dont need so much stocks, so when something goes out it is quite quickly unavailable.

Oh no. I played with my Eraser for 1 day and now most of the time the lock travels all the way to the right and is very hard to disengage.
Is this normal? It seems like the lock is too short or the "tang" is not long enough. Just half a millimeter or even less would make a big difference.
I don't think I can fix "too short" myself. Too long would be easy. But maybe there is a trick?:o
What would be the best action? Send it back to the Armarzone (3rd party seller) and hope the replacement (if he even has one) is better or send it to CRKT for fixing under warranty (can they if it is discontinued)?
Thanks guys!

(picture as soon as I can)

edit:
Here is the picture

The lock goes all the way to the right side of the blade. It is not touching the handle on the right (yet). Can it ever do that if repeated opening grinds on the lock and tang until they get a bit smaller?

Which 'rainforest' site have you guys found these at?

Oh yeah, and I guess-what is a rainforest site??

I think a bunch of the guys in this thread need to check out the (unfortunately discontinued) Kershaw RAM. Probably the best flipper I've ever owned/used.

I have a few from CRKT that I like and I see no reason for this one to be any different... It should be here in a few days, it's coming from the river on a slow brown boxy delivery vehicle....

Last time I checked in on this thread there were only a few posts. Now there's pages of comments, drool-worthy videos and pics of giant hands (no offense, Jens--just making a lame joke ;))! I'm sad to hear this model was discontinued but after all the pics and observations, I'm gonna try and find one! The looks are killer, and I like that blade shape. I love well-executed flippers.

Modded mine. Now it flips completely open in any! position without any effort and the frame lock is very comfy to disengage. Funnily (is that a word?) I haven't dremeled the handle yet. I just relax my hand so that 3 fingers fill out the valley in the handle and the 4th rests on the ramp. It's only if I try to hold it like normal ppl and attempt to squeeze all 4 in there that it hurts. So I adjusted and got used to it.
Might open a new thread on my mod.
:)

Well, I got the first of the two of these that I ordered and this one doesn't flip anywhere near like the OP's. It is however centered perfectly. When I tried loosening up the pivot, the blade centering went away, like the OP's, but I still never got to the easy flipping of his! I'm gonna try a little lube and see if that helps, but as it is, with a little wrist it works well, as good as other flippers I have generally. Hoping the second one I've got on the way flips like Comeuppances does. And yes Jens, I am very interested in your mods--especially one which helped it 'flip open in any! position without any effort and the frame lock is very comfy to disengage.'
