I was on the email notification list and never received the in-stock information.....I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been here!!!

Yeah, I don't even bother anymore with that at BHQ because I almost always endup finding out elsewhere when something is in stock long before the notification comes.

I had 2 alerts set up with them and haven't heard a thing.

I think companies should send the notification before they post it on the website (maybe 20-30 minutes before). That way you are notified before it gets posted and they are all gone.

I've had PM2 (several different configs) on notification with them and I know they've been in stock at times and have yet to get a notification at all for any of them.:mad:
 
There must be a good reason why dealers are only getting these a handful at a time...
Anyone know what it is?

They are a sprint run, so limited numbers are being produced and I think Spyderco likes to be as fair as possible to dealers and spreads them out. Then there are things like the PM2 in which they can't keep up with orders.
 
Sure, I understand they are limited, but only 8-10 per dealer?
I've never played the sprint run game before. Are there really 120+ dealers stocking these?

I'm pretty sure they have over 500 brick and mortar dealers and there are probably a couple dozen relatively large online dealers. Not sure they are all trying to stock these but the ones that cater to collectors probably are. I'm sure the dealers like Blade HQ, Knife Center...ect probably get dibs on the sprints but I think they do try to make sure all of those types of sellers get some of them.

Especially if the alert is for an account holder, which I am.
Hopefully there will be enough to go around. I don't want to pay 'Bay prices for one. :(
 
I wasn't even aware of a Mili sprint run! I got the Goddard OD Green Sprint (1st ever Spydie I ever bought) and the Calypso Brown G-10 Sprint. I'm a rookie to Spydie collecting so how many sprints does Spyderco issue a year?

I'm not sure but they do several of them a year I think. Most of the time they are 1200-1500 count runs, I think.
 
Like I said before, those email notification things are almost useless on items this "hot". By the time the notification email system fires up and kicks a message out, they are long gone.
