Cruwear Military Questions...

I think companies should send the notification before they post it on the website (maybe 20-30 minutes before). That way you are notified before it gets posted and they are all gone.

C'mon, think, if they did that, it'd show up as out of stock...relax, there are 1200 of these with probably a thousand left in the pipeline.

Don't need to think, obviously it wouldn't be posted as in stock yet and that's the whole idea. It gives people a chance to keep an eye on the listing so they can buy it when it is updated shortly afterword. I also doubt they have a thousand left.

Unfortunately, I too missed out on the GP one earlier, but I must say having never dealt with them they are a class act from my email communication with them today. I got the notification from them and immediately put one in the cart. Unfortunately I realized I didn't have an account with them and had to create one, by which time they were sold out. However, I contacted them and they only had like 12 so I'm not surprised it went that fast. They are hoping to get more but don't know for sure.

I must agree though with others regarding a dealer (potentially several?) that don't send out notifications. I understand that limited runs like this will go fast, but if you aren't going to send out notifications, why bother having the feature. Sure it sucks when you get a notification and find it already out of stock, but at least you had a shot.

Anyways, from everything I've seen it sounds like dealers are only getting a handful at a time so I'm sure there are plenty more to come, just not sure where they will pop up. The hunt continues!

What is interesting to me is the cruwear mule after they fixed the heat treatment, it took forever to sell out. They were still available when the next mule the elmax came out. I got one and it is a great steel no doubt. I put it in my top 5 favorite steels just based on that mule I got. Which was one used heavily prior to the return reheat treat...as mine was reground massively and much shorter than my other mules.

point is why all of a sudden is everyone wanting the cruwear military. Cause they can flip it being a sprint and double their money? Cause its a sprint run and a military? Or has all those who passed on the mule changed their mind on the steel? Thanks for the feedback.

in case anyone at syperdco is reading....more cruwear please....pm2 would be nice.

Damnit i called bladeHQ at around 4pm today and they said they had none in stock and they didn't receive any

I called GPK, they said they sold out quick too. They also said they would more than likely not be getting more. I was like, what? It's a huge run compared to others, but whatever.

I wouldn't bet the house on that assertion.

Historically, Spyderco seems to have shipped even smaller sprint runs in multiple groups. 1,000 may or may not be the right number, but at a minimum, it is very likely that at least half of this run still remains to be shipped.

That might be but if half is gone that fast, the other half will likely go as fast so watch the various dealer sites.

Sounds good to me, because I want one! ;)

Just spoke to a local dealer who refused to sell it to me for a penny under $249. Saying that his cost is something like 140$. Tried haggling but that went nowehere.

You can tell him ths shove it up his rear. $249 is MRSP and as a dealer there is no way in hell he paid $249 for the thing. If he's Spyderco dealer he probably is paying about $100-$130 for it, maybe less if they sell a lot of volume in Spyderco products.

I did just that, told him it's his right and all but there is no reason for me to do business with him at that price point.

Yeah, nobody really sells at MRSP, granted after the sprint run sells out he might be able to get $249 if the right collecter wants it that bad but I doubt it.

The guys should be happy you came to his store to buy a knife instead of buying online. Granted, I don't expect the brick and mortar guys to sell as low as the ones that are mostly online retailers but he should discount it some.

Just placed an order for one at Blade and immediately went out of stock

I wouldn't do business with a shop like that. I mean, there is dealer direct price, then there is wholesale, retail, and full MSRP. So to make a few bucks more on one knife the guy decided to kill any potential business you'd be willing to do with him? Nice job!

Just to add, I just did a full search checking every vendor that came up and found the store you are referring to (same price so I'm assuming) and because of past business practices, wouldn't do business there anyway. But, found another vendor offering this knife for $300 even. KMA. Joke.
