prayers out to those involved, sad news

This makes me sick to my stomach. I can't believe that anyone out there is that much of an a-hole to go do something this bad. That's..... I dont know. Im speechless. I get angrier and angrier every time I hear about this. Too bad he killed himself. I wold have loved to tie him up and throw him in a room with all the mothers that he devastated and just let them rip him apart.

The only thing that could have stopped this is another person with a firearm and the will and knowledge to use it. Gun Free zones do not work all they do is make defenseless victims.
Therein lies the problem. We have created gun free zones, (Schools, medical facilities, etc.) thereby creating killing fields.
Bring on individual mental health awareness testing, start testing people from kindergarten on through college.
And arm the willing teachers and school employees.

solution

I can't even fathom how the parents are coping with this.
I have two in middle school and couldn't imagine what the families are going through.
I keep thinking of walking by the laundry and seeing their tiny clothes, presents under the Christmas tree,
reminders that will be haunting them for who knows how long.

Strength and prayers out to the families of this horrible act.

The tragedy of that school shooting is beyon words . I don't think ANY sane person can wrap their head around how someone could do that to the most innocent , children . I believe that the thoughts and prayers of the entire free world go out to those touched by this . Mine certainly do .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS :emot-yarr:

I posted this in the cove as well. This is a list of this years shootings in the US;

April 2nd - Oikos University, California - 7 dead

July 20th - Aurora Movie Theater, Colorado - 12 dead

August 5th - Sikh Temple, Wisconsin - 6 dead

December 11th - Clackamus Town Center Mall, Oregon - 2 dead

Yesterday - Sandy Hook Elementary School, Connecticut - 28 dead

this story pisses me off to no end.

some mental case that most likely sat home and played COD 24/7 steals his moms guns, kills her and a bunch of little innocent kids..

life isn't a video game (there's n***** respawn) but apparently this scumbag thought otherwise.

What saddens me is the pro-gun self defense side has to immediately start trying politicize this because we know we are going to have to defend our rights from those on the gun control crowd who are going to try to use this to take our rights away. A blog I read says it best
A 20 year-old had a couple of handguns (illegal). And, depending on the press report, had an assault weapon (illegal), automatic rifle (illegal), or machine gun (illegal). Shot his mom in the face (illegal). Stole his mom’s vehicle (illegal). Transported the gun in the vehicle (illegal) within 1,000 feet of a school (illegal). Carried it onto school property (illegal). Broke and entered (illegal). Carried a gun in a school (illegal). Discharged a firearm (illegal). Shot at people (illegal). Killed some people (illegal). Killed himself (not sure if illegal).

And I’m sure broke other laws I’m not aware of. But, you know, one more gun law ought to do it. Right?

Also, the semi-automatic 5.56 or machine gun or automatic rifle or assault weapons (depending on the source) was much vilified as news of the shooting broke. But that weapon remained in the car.

This was a tragedy but you know what tragedies happen they even happen in places with strict gun control. The very next day a guy in China killed almost the same number with a knife. There was also Norway a few moths back. More laws are not going to stop this but you know what all these shooting have in common they were all gun free zones. You know what cities have the highest crime rates...those with the strictest gun control laws.

Mayor Bloomberg was on tv before the bodies were even cold calling for more gun control. News crews interviewing the victims parents and kids that survived. Total lack of class. As a parent I can only imagine how these families must feel. My heart goes out to all those involved.

Reports from the medical examiner state that the long gun was used exclusively. Makes sense considering they are reporting between 3 and 11 wounds per body. That would be a heck of a lot of mags for the pistols. I had figured the report of at least 100 rounds was an exageration.

Where did you hear that as the reports I am seeing state that the .223 rifle was found in the back of the car and was not even used at the school.

seems odd that his mother had so many guns.
Is that where he got the guns? I have not seen that reported. Around here that would not be an abnormal number but maybe in CT it is.

CNN. The police are saying one thing. The examiner another.

They were all his mother's.

that's what they're saying...

i believe she was a school teacher as well so it just seems like an odd side hobby for a female elementary school teacher (maybe not in SC)..

nothings 100% though...

Rahm Emanuel once said "Never let a crisis go to waste".

Prayers to all those involved.

Why is that an odd hobby? Is it because she's female or because she's a teacher? My wife happens to be both and she shoots just fine.

Bottom line is that he was a criminal. He used stolen guns to commit a crime. Period. May he rot in hell for it.

People who like guns and shooting come from all walks of life just like knife enthusiast . There are a surprising number of the in the IT field and it is getting more diverse everyday. Shooting is fun and more often than not if someone is introduced to it in a responsible way they tend to want to do more of it.

i realize that anybody can take an interest in these hobbies.

perhaps, i just didn't think it was common for female elementary school teachers that pack that kind of arsenal.

was it her hobby though?

we don't even know...

which is why as of now i find it bizarre (as will the investigators).
