Cult of the peanut , members

Thanks Andi, it's been a great day ;)

My first Kabar and my first Peanut, I'm very pleased with it :)

Congratulations on the new 'nut, Jack. Beautiful little knife with a old and respected name in cutlery. You may now enter the exalted temple, brother.
:D

And good for you, Pete. Class act!

Carl.

Thank you fellers. I'm liking the knife already. I like small knives generally, and think this one will prove a very handy EDC. Pete's told me a bit of the knife's history before it crossed the Atlantic, and I'm hoping we can have a few adventures together :)

well, its not a peanut
but jackknife DID say i could be in with double secret probationary status

anyways, in addition to my gec 85 i did have this lil guy with me today :)
even used him to break down a few cardboard boxes

My Peanut helped me turn vegetables into soup yesterday :)

I think this may be the better place for me to show these pictures. As you may or may not know Paul Bosley gave away a Case 6.5 bone stag tiny trapper and I was lucky enough to be picked as the winner of that knife. I had recently decided to purchase a China made Kissing Crane "trappernut". At least I thought that's what it was. I'm not so sure now... Anyway, I decided to do some comparison pics of the two knives. First you will see that the Kissing Crane is easily the larger of the two.

Additionally, you can see both have a "trapperesque" handle shape rather than a "peanutty" shape. At least to my eye. Both of these knives are similar size to peanuts with the Case model being a bit smaller and the Kissing Crane being just about the same size as a peanut.

So would you say that the Kissing Crane is a "small trapper" or a "trapper nut"?

Does it matter?

Little knives. With an attitude!!! I think I like the spey blade shape on these really small trappers just fine.

Ed how do you like the Kissing Crane? I purchased a canoe made by them and was surprised how well made it was, really, really nice a step above Rough Rider in F & F and a solid knife.

Pete

Yours look nice, & congrats on the Case

Pete, my only complaint on the Kissing Crane, and I have had it on other small knives as well - the covers are thicker than they should be and this makes the knife thicker than it should be. The Case is much better in that regard. But it's not a killer, just a personal thing. I do like the size of it though; it feels like a peanut and it's a fairly well made knife. I can't say anything really negative toward it and the price is easy on the wallet.

I'd say the Kissing Crane is a small trapper, but I also agree with you that it's a small knife with an attitude. And I like small knives with an attitude. Especially when they're very pretty small knives!

You Guys have given me the need to share some terrible cell phone pictures of my own peanuts! I carry the yella cv nut everyday. And the worn nut with the broken blade was a rescue item(my old boss was going to throw it away). The chestnut bone was a impulse must have while the stag and chestnut smooth bone were gifts. I hope that they are enough to gain a membership to the cult.

Not to speak for others, but I reckon you were "in" at your bolded statement, above.

Nice little set of little knives.

Hey samblam, you have more than enough reference there for admittance to the cult.

Justt he daily carry of a yella 'nut would do, but you're rescued a injured nut and gave it a home, and have the chestnut 'nut to boot. You may eve pass the probationary period!:D
