Cult of the peanut , members

Got this little fella in the mail on Thursday - hasn't left my pocket since. Very pleased with the as-ground blade finish. I can see why the 'nut has reached cult status!

If you never use the little watch pocket in your blue jeans , you have a good excuse to get a peanut. :D

Thanks guys , it was the last one and after watching it for a few days I caved. Never had a peanut before.

Congrats on your first BF post, and welcome, MKA!
That is a very cool Peanut you posted. I'm not a Case expert, but I'll bet that one was not manufactured this week!! Classic!

Thanks for the welcome - and you are correct, it's a 1990. It doesn't appear to have been carried much, or sharpened since it left the factory. Lucky find & happy to have the opportunity to give it a home.

I need to get back to Hanover PA and search some of my old hunting spots, for old peanuts. I've found quite a few and gave them as gifts to family. Pickins have gotten slim over the years, but I have still continued to see some gems. One I gave to my pop, which he lost, had been converted to a wharncliff style blade, it was well used and possibly broken at one time? Anyway, it had a very light pull, which my father really liked.

All of his lost knives must be terrorizing socks in the dimension they go to when they leave the dryer...

Hey fellow cultists...
I've been lurking here for quite a while now. Since I was a kid, my dad has always had a Case or a SAK in his pocket. My journey started with an old slip joint that Dad gave me when I was 8 years old (still have it). Through the years my tastes and obsessions have run the gambit, but my collection has never taken up much space. At one point Dad gave me a yellow medium Stockman CV. I carried it once in a while but never was devoted to the knife, though there is significant sentimental value to it.

About six months ago I got talking with my dad about his cigar box full of Case knives and remembered having seen a thread about the mighty Peanut here on Blade Forums. I re-found this enabling and downright dangerous thread and began reading from page one.

Since 2011, a Spyderco Dragonfly in ZDP189 rode in my pocket, day in and day out. Three months ago, I bought a yeller nut--partially to match my yellow Stockman, partially because azranchman's looks so good--and it has all but replaced all my other knives, even my beloved Dragonfly.

Today I finished reading this whole thread and have carried my yeller nut for three months consistently. The patina is coming along nicely. The CV pops hairs and peels apples like a champ.

You all seem to be fantastic folks and I feel like I've gotten to know you through your posts. Carl, Pete, and all you others are enablers of the highest order! But I'm glad because this thread and the mighty Peanut has changed my outlook on knife ownership, use, and perceived vs actual needs! Many thanks everyone!

This is my humble submission for entry and acceptance to the cult.

Welcome aboard Aaron! What a great intro post and pics to match. There's just something about Case's yellow Delrin that I like. The feel of it in hand and the classic retro look are my favorite things about it. I've had my Peanut for 2 1/2 years now and it's a rare day that it's not in my watch pocket as the #2 to my primary knife.

Congrats on your new Peanut and glad to hear you're seeing what a wonderful little companion it is.

Now you're only missing one thing you know... :D

Cult Brother ranchman is right. If you look at chapter 8, page 145, paragraph 2, in The Cult bylaws, it is clearly states that a Sear's 4-way keychain screw driver is highly recommended for carry to accompany the peanut in day to day carry. If a Sear's 4-way is not avail be, a P-38 is acceptable until a 4-way is obtained. Appeals may be made to the current sitting Grand High Muckba of The Cult. Either one is acceptably reto.

Seeing a lot of new converts on here and some really nice peanuts. Let's keep the gospel going and keep bumpin' this thread.
