I picked up one of those BSA stones in the pouch NOS Carl, even came with the angle guide and original price tag on the back of the leather. I think I'll give it a try on TruSharp and my SAKs. I was going to keep it as a collectible, but I've found that I'm better off using stuff than just displaying it!

Cheers,
Griff

Yeah, use the heck out of it. I think you'll like how the true sharp and SAK's take a nice toothy edge with that stone. When I think back to my boy scout days, we got our scout knives very sharp with those old "carborundum" stones and a little stropping on the back of a belt.

Carl.

A peanut and a pipe goes well with each other!

So, I stopped back at that Ace hardware where I bought the redbone SS Peanut "Making a Case for America" Brooks & Dunn set, and bought the last one, then I discovered that the closest Cabelas to me has Yeller CV Peanuts in stock....

Problem is, it's an hour away on toll roads, and I'd rather support local shops, but KTP doesn't carry new Case knives....

I know I could order one online, and I already have a SS user 'nut, so I don't *need* one immediately, still, the temptation to drive there and get one is strong....

But y'know there's that Maine turnpike tolls, gas prices and Maine tax thing working against it, it'd be cheaper to order online, even with shipping, but if I take the drive I could have it in hand tomorrow, instead of in a few days ...

Show us a pic when you get home with it tomorrow! :D

Cabelas Yeller CV
86 mile round trip
2 hour drive time
Gas; 3.55/gal x4 gallons= $14.20
$5 tolls (total)
Knife 34.99
$36.44 w/tax

$55.64 total

Newgraham Yeller CV
$29.58
$8.99 shipping
38.57 total

Newgraham Amber CV
37.50
$8.99 shipping
46.49 total

Does it still make sense to drive to Cabelas now?

I can order an amber bone CV (which I prefer anyway) for less than a Yeller Cabelas and the only downside is it'd take two to three business days to get here...

I would just order the one you want, I take it you are referring to the Scarborough ME. Location, I stopped at the Trading Post last weekend and was disappointed in the lack of traditional selection they used to have Boker carbon steel, Buck, all they had way of traditionals were two Large case toothpicks and a Case Tiny toothpick, and a bunch of Taylor made Schrades, and some Buck imports, Oh well, I guess I'll stick to online, shipping is usually pretty quick.

Pete

Case doesn't currently offer a Peanut in CV steel with Amber bone handles. That must be the stainless steel version you are looking at.

Nope, it says CV on the page, and I just ordered the last one, so it now shows as "out of stock"
