That photo is great! It just makes me smile.

Since the cult is now the cult of the 3" and under knife, not just for peanuts, here is my current alternut, along with its cult member sponsor

Love the hue's in the pearl. From white to blue, then violet. Very pretty little cutter!:thumb up:

That's what we need, more peanuts with great pearl.

Carl, Grand High Muckba who loves color.

I am waiting on an inbound Smooth Chestnut Bone Peanut,i dont recall seeing many pictures of the smoothy...

Look at the top page 36 and there is a pic of mine, or just look at this one (also mine);

Sorry Ive used this ^^ recently.

The bone is darker than the pictures show but not by much.

The smooth chestnut bone will be next on the list of peanut purchases. Appears to be a SS model and not CV, which isn't an issue for me.

Here is a 1-blade-peanut with MOP

To my eye, the shape of the front bolster is critical to being a peanut. Any knife with a squared or symmetrical bolster doesn't qualify.

Agreed. Size alone does not a Peanut make. See below - Peanut versus Tiny Trapper:

Size does matter though, as at 3⅞" this is NOT a peanut. But an inch shorter, and it could be.

Beautiful! The pile side photo shows some great colors. Its very difficult to capture the colors of MOP in a photo. Also, some mop is not that colorful, it can be just sort of white and translucent. In some of my MOP knives, one side has colors, and the other does not.

I agree with you, but the Grand High One has opened cult membership to any 3" or shorter knife.
If it was up to me, the cult would only allow genuine Case peanuts, an even more limiting rule than your square bolster feature.

Great picture! I agree, size matters. Maybe we could call your knife an OakNut, but not a PeaNut :-)

Here we have a "Real" Peanut, a mini Peanut, a MOP Fruit knife with sterling blade, and a Pen Knife with rounded bolster.

IMG_9076.JPG

The pen qualifies under the size and bolster criteria to be an honorary Cult member, but imo it is disqualified by not being a Jack (both blades are on the same end in a Peanut Jack). The fruit knife qualifies on size, but not on bolster, nor does it have a clip blade, nor 2 blades, and its not very serpentine either.

The more limiting rules include, a Peanut must have 2 blades (rules out the beautiful custom Mop nut), and the blades must have half stops (rules out Rough Rider)... In the interest of expanding membership though, I agree with the Grand High One, that at the moment Cult enrollment is open to all knives 3" or shorter. This is due to competition from the Texas Jack Cult, that allows all sorts of other knives, including Gunstock patterns that are not even serpentine.. but I digress..

Black_mamba you got me ! I didn't expect such closed look at the pictures. I took the frontbolster from another knife, so it is not a real peanut. - By the way I took the pctures so tricky so that I could hide the second blade, a penblade. If people look closer than Black_mamba than they can see a tiny little bit from the pen. And I was successful by irritating you with my text: 1blade-peanut.

mwuahahaha!!
well the Texas jack cult has to make up lost ground, the peaNUTS have a couple years head start on us.
The texas jack cult is more about jack knives with enough handle for everyone (ideally 3 1/4 to 3 5/8s) while still maintaining a slim, easily carried profile

and the peanut is man jewelry :)

Seriously, I've been using my little yeller nut exclusively for a week. I've carried another knife just because I like them, but I've only been using the nut. It's really been a great little knife and I haven't felt under knifed with it at all. I'm itching to get a Chestnut Bone version now. :)

There's a bit of play on the large blade of one of my peanuts. Not loose, but a hint of play side to side. Is there any way to make it tighter?
