Single blade peanuts do exist, but they are few and far between compared to the two blade. A week ago Dan, silenthunterstudios, and I were at the Mason-Dixon knife club show, and he picked up a drop dead gorgeous damascus peanut with one single clip blade. It odes change the whole feel of the knife. Very nice trim package that snuggles into the hand.

Your making me want one more and more:) Seen a small barlow by S&M that’s been tempting me.

This is actually the ONE I had been referring to. I recall you guys talking about it afterwards.

Any one know if a single blade peanut exists.

The Schrade 12OT is a single-blade peanut, just by another name. (Mine is along for the ride today, in fact.)

I think Case makes a single-bladed zytel 'nut as part of their regular lineup, too, FWIW.

I don't own a Peanut...perhaps too small, or maybe because I'm looking for that very special as ground version with a beautiful cut swedge.

I'm new to Peanuts, but I've grown to appreciate it as a great #2 knife. I always carry two pocket knives... a 3 1/2" to 3 7/8" one or two-blade jack and then either a Peanut or Pemberton as my #2 in the watch pocket. As a #2 the little Peanut is awesome for my needs.

I like my Peanuts. There, I said it. I am truly a member of the "Cult", but there might be something better. Perhaps the Cult is not what it seems, but rather is a subset of a larger knife realm, "The Church of Small Slip joints."

Now before I am excommunicated and my name struck from the record in the inner sanctum, here me out. In my Christian life, I consider my self a Baptist, but more importantly, a Christian. I am a Baptist by doctrine, maybe we are "Peanutists" by small knife doctrine. Maybe the "Peanutists", the "Jackitarians", and even the "Eisenhowerostals" need to do a little more interdenominational fellowship.

Maybe it is not the pattern that is important, but rather what the type of knives stand for. The ability to improvise with something smaller, and still look good doing it ;).

I am a member of the "Cult" with a shaky doctrinal statement.

I'm not into the cult thing, I get it and its cool just not my style, but when I first got into traditionals I had a case micro trapper my dad gave me. Since all the peanuts in the cult thread didn't look the same I thought it was just small two bladed traditionals. Therefore I posted a picture of my trapper. Said I didn't know if it counted (or something) but didn't get a response so I kind of just moved on. Now I carry my (even smaller than a peanut) gec 22 most days.

I think you have a cool idea, don't know if it'll catch on though.

I think your on to something really. It's more about choosing to get by with less, and doing so comfortably, than it is which pattern you choose. My 2 cents.

Small knives will do probably 99% of the cutting jobs the average person will need a pocket knife for. Whether it's a Peanut, Pemberton, a #22, a Case Tiny Trapper, etc matters not. They get the job done and they do it well! :)

I always have a Peanut or Pemberton in my watch pocket - this is my "#2". In my RFP is my "#1" - usually a 3 1/2" to 3 7/8" traditional like a #15, 55 Houndstooth, 48 Trapper, a #79 or my 92 Eureka Jack. Depending on the task at hand, one of these easily gets it done, but the huge majority of the time the little guy gets it done just as well.

Case yellow CV Peanut, and a Buck Smidgen make a great combo!

Nice! For me it's usually the yellow CV Peanut and one of my 15's... Barlow, Boys Knife or the gorgeous Radio Jack in blood red bone.

I am a small knife addict and I am proud of it! :D That said I always have at least one knife with me unless traveling and it is either a Peanut, Pemberton or #22. Yes I will carry a second, bigger knife if I feel the need, but a small knife will sit comfortably in my left front pocket and will be the one used 90% of the time. Steven

I like many of the smaller traditionals, and think most that post in the Peanut thread do as well.

Choice of denomination, depends on what you cut.

As a KniFoodist I find Peanut sized knives (<3" handle, <2" blade) inadequately short for my style of main course viand worship. As a member of the Foodist denomination in the religion of Knifology, the 3.5" (2.5" blade) knife is an ideal compromise between pocketability and utility. Though my 4" bladed fixed blade Puukko is far superior for whole TriTip divison, and accompanies me on Pilgrimage to the Temple of CampBQ, it does not fit in my pocket. Otoh, when sacrificing Scones in urban settings, a 3" knife is perfectly adequate.

A cult and a denomination are the same thing, seen from the differing biases or perspectives of non believers vis a vis the faithful. The denomination of Stockmanism (3 blades in 1), might consider the Peanutists (2 blades in 1), or the Puukkotists (MonoBladeism) an unenlightened cult.

I am a MultiCultist and worship with 3", 3.5", and 4" knives depending on the sacrifice. My denominations, Peanutism, Barlowism, and Puukkoism, include only single and dual blades, Ive never been a member of a 3 blade cult, or denomination, depending on perspective.
