Cult of the peanut , members

Shooting for member 3, just awaiting confirmation.

I just realized it sounds like I'm gunning for member #3 ;) I predict it'll fill up fast :) by joining I've made the commitment, my 70s Queen Peanut in Winterbottom bone,(delrin) has been with me in pocket for about 2 weeks now, I don't have to remember I have it anymore, I know just where to find it. ;)

Got my first Peanut today, a Northwoods Stag Peanut in D2.

I have not handled or seen a GEC Peanut in person. How do they compare to the Case Peanuts?

That's a Northwoods Peanut made by Queen, I believe they are made with D2 steel, Derrick has them on his site at KSF

2.5+ years of EDC and still going strong

Pete, that 'nut is looking better every time you show it!!:thumbup::thumb up:

With such dedication to the 'nut, you deserve to be an officer of The Cult!

I have just started a Facebook group called the Cult of the Peanut. All peanut owners are welcome. Carl, you are the headman of the group, I will add you as an admin. You must have a peanut to join. Unlike Slipjoint Addict, no sales are allowed, this group is just for pics and musings on peanuts. I hope to see you there.

The Admins will be known as the Order of the Peanut. Imagine the Three Musketeers with peanuts instead of rapiers... ;).
I can't find the group? :( So sad.

Congrats Pete! Carl has spoken... You have now been ordained.

I'm honored, but what's a higher rank? Officer or Guardian?
See post 41 :D

Oh of course an officer is higher up. You're getting promoted for the dedication you have shown in the steadfast loyalty to The Cult. A guardian is still sort of a rank and file, but the officer is another level. In the next few days, the man with the Fez will call on you to give you the key to the inner sanctum. Or maybe the midget, if the man with the Fez isn't back yet.

Oh, just don't ask him "whats up?" He's sensitive about elevation!:)

Carl, Grand High Mucba with issues.

Spreading the good word today and trying to convert the people. You can lug around a big frame lock flipper because they're cool to play with but when you need something cut with a little concentration pull out that peanut.

He found me, odd I'm pretty much off the grid, and I don't get deliveries and not on any maps or gps, he seemed like a nice enough fella, but that thing he did with the baby oil made me a little uncomfortable

I couldn't resist giving it a try: The Easy Open Peanut.

Technically, I don't think it's an Easy Open knife unless you can pinch the blade. Being a two bladed jack, what I really did was just give the pen side an exaggerated nail relief. What really makes it easier to open is that I cut a long pull on the pen blade. This lets you lift it out from a spot farther from the pivot.

I wish I could have done a neater job cutting the pull, but it does work.

I could go a little bigger with the nail relief, but I have to be careful not to go deeper than the width of the blade or you'd be cutting off your thumbnail. I just gave it a try, and I can pinch it open if I don't mind the blade rubbing the liner from sideways pressure.

I haven't done anything to the clip side. What do y'all think?

ETA: Carl, if you're interested in trying this out, to see if it works for you, let me know.

Pretty cool idea... that pen blade is a bit of stinker to get a good grip on and the pull is pretty strong on both my Peanuts.
