Cult of the peanut , members

The Roman Gladius was the peanut of its day. Most of the Germanic tribes were armed with battle axes and broadswords, the Roman Legion got along fine with the Gladius.

and yet, its NOT a peanut
so the moral of this story is...

when the going gets tough
the peaNUTs get a bigger blade

sounds about right :D

You have it all wrong. Sometimes, life is too easy with a Peanut. Sometimes we must challenge ourselves with an inferior blade to keep our skills on the cutting edge.

These will hold them off!

Should be easy with that.

Just picked up my first peanuts at a mom and pop hardware store because the price was right. I have carried the case all week.

Also late grandpa's little stockman and a gifted buck toothpick

all three brand new for a grand sum of $9 for the lot!

Hi everyone,
I have really enjoyed the lore of the peanut that this thread has provided, along with all the more general info shared in the traditional sub forum, so I respectfully submit my entry into the Cult of the Peanut!
One of these is with me everyday; the yellow Case I bought after reading the first 35 or so pages of this thread, and was the tiny nail in the coffin for my carry of flippy, modern knives. I usually have another traditional of some sort in a slip as well, but unless I am consciously choosing to use that knife, my hand almost always picks the peanut first.
The Queen Peanut (dare I say queennut?) is a bit more recent, and enjoyable with the toothier D2 edge I have on it. It was twice as expensive as the Case, and had less than half as nice fit and finish regrettably. I fixed it up as well as my meager skills will allow at the moment, and, while not perfect, is acceptable now.
Anyway, thank you for the enjoyable read!
B.

Mckenny; Great score on the peanuts!

Better late than never with my humble request to join the Cult! Ready and willing to do my duty in Operation Pirana. Peanut is sharp and ready also!

Thanks ranchman, it definitely does the job and does it well! I've grown very close to it here lately, really is a great knife

Easy company reporting

Careful there Trapper92. If that Peanut happens to slice through that wire, those other guys could get through.
Rsmith_77 - keep your koolaid, we have cookies!

It's usually pretty careful about what wire it decides to cut. BUT sometimes it does get a little irritated and nips the wrong thing and it's not always pretty! Wouldn't want to have any enemy advancement, might have to have a talk later and make sure it's in the right state of mind, gets a little wild in times of battle

I have 5 nuts, but this is the one that is the closest to my heart. It is the first traditional I bought after finding this place...It has been a busy few years, and this one is still my most carried knife!

Been pouring over all these peanut pics and posts the last couple of days. Man, I thought, I need to get one of those awesome little knives. Then I remembered. Back in 2001, right before my son was born, I decided to get him a knife for when he was older. Was in the local Farmers Co-op and bought several Case knives, put them away for safe keeping since I have plenty of edc blades. Dug up those knives the other night and sure enough - a shiny new India stag SS peanut! Now i gotta get a CV for myself....Yeller or bone?
