Cult of the peanut , members

Lots of grown men are coming back to slipjoints. See it on Facebook especially. People like a useful jack or trapper over a thick frame lock.

Yeah, well, I'm guilty of that as well. To a point. Have a few Spydercos and edc a Byrd cara cara along with a Case traditional of some sort. At 55 however, I do appreciate a nice slip joint and will always carry one. Going back to my roots.

Please accept my apologies, shawl_13! I didn't mean to sound so "judgmental" about modern folders; my intent was simply to express a (strongly-held) personal bias against modern folders. There are traditional folders, too, that really don't "float my boat", but other folks rave about. We all have our individual tastes about what knives we love and what knives we loathe, and, I know for me, that changes over time. And I can't always pinpoint reasons for some of my preferences!

*tapdances through the peaNUT thread*

Rsmith_77, I haven't officially joined any of the cults around here; I'm still sort of a "free agent". At the risk of asking a question inappropriate to this peanut thread, I find your Texas jack quite appealing, but do you know if there's a round bolster version available? Thanks. (Ducking and covering now)

there is a case medium jack (3 1/4") in stainless with black delrin scales with round bolters, just a tad smaller than the texas jack
still bigger than the peanut :D

lets be clear here. I dont object to the peanut. One doesnt really need a LARGE blade,
its just that, its awfully nice to have enough handle to hold on to...
hence the peanut < texas jack

in all honesty, i think the main clips are the same size, just an extra half inch or so to hold on to is awfully nice
but the REAL secret to the texas jack is the pen blade, just look at this beauty

Ryan, you don't know the power of the Peanut.

Cookies?

Who needs cookies when you have peanuts!?

Ah the little peanut, how many ways do we love thee? Salted, unsalted, dry roasted, honey glazed, chocolate covered,…

:D

No boiled peanuts, not unless you are affecting the scales on a knife.

Or unless you are in our southern sector, they get a reprieve.

Keep the peanut pics coming people!

Since Karen and I have went semi-vegitarian for health reasons, (Her cholesterol and my blood pressure) we've been doing a lot of stir fry. Of course, I use peanut oil in the wok!
