Cult of the peanut , members

Been pouring over all these peanut pics and posts the last couple of days. Man, I thought, I need to get one of those awesome little knives. Then I remembered. Back in 2001, right before my son was born, I decided to get him a knife for when he was older. Was in the local Farmers Co-op and bought several Case knives, put them away for safe keeping since I have plenty of edc blades. Dug up those knives the other night and sure enough - a shiny new India stag SS peanut! Now i gotta get a CV for myself....Yeller or bone?

Yellar!!!

The yella 'nut is the classic amount classic's. The combo of the yella scales and a building patina with a slight iridescent hue on the blade is a very nice contrast.

Yellow is just a classic :)

it occurs to me, just how great is this cult of the peanut when the creator and grand high muckbah ...retires and moves on to carry a 4" stockman

just something to think about ;) :D

So the peanut decided we should keep the horses fed well and they could be a big help in defending against Captain Smith. Sort of a Peanut Cavalry if you will

Quick question, are the yeller handles the same thickness as the bone? The handles on my stag are really nice and fat.

Good-looking little knife, shawl_13! I think you said you put away that knife, among others, for your son. Does he carry a knife now?

shawl_13,

The stag handles will be "fatter" than either bone or yellow delrin. In fact the yellow is the thinnest of all the various scale materials in my experience.

Thanks 5K, no he doesn't carry one yet. He's 11 and is more interested in videogames at this point. Not as mature as kids were back in my day. He'll get there eventually.

I hear you, shawl_13. And every kid is different. I have a nephew about that age that's crazy about knives. He's always begging to be taken to the flea market to visit the knife booths. I appreciate his enthusiasm, but personally can't understand his obsession with the modern tactical folders.:barf::D

Yeah, well, I'm guilty of that as well. To a point. Have a few Spydercos and edc a Byrd cara cara along with a Case traditional of some sort. At 55 however, I do appreciate a nice slip joint and will always carry one. Going back to my roots.
