R.c.s., is the Case Peanut in your photo a CV chestnut jigged bone? It certainly looks good!:thumbup:
The white bone peanut is "nothing to sneeze at" either; is that a Rough Rider??

Cultists you making me crazy with your great knives! I just told my wife that yellow Case Peanut CV would be a great gift for me. I am going to become the member of the cult too)

I just got this one today it is stamped Northwoods, Gladstone, Mich, USA. I was told it is D2 blade steel but there is nothing on the tangs or the box, i have no idea when it was made but i think Queen Cutlery may have had a hand in it. I do not really care because i love it, the stag is grand and it sits in the hand just fine.Anyhoo it joins my little band of peanuts and the RR does not feel so outnumbered.

Yes your right on both accounts . thanks GT

Thanks for the confirmation, R.c.s. :)
I have a Sodbuster Jr and a swayback jack in CV chestnut jigged bone that I like immensely. I've been planning/saving for a matching sowbelly, and now I see I'll need the peanut too!:p:p And I was just looking online today at some RR peanuts, thinking that I really should get one; I don't think I'll get white bone, but your picture of your two peanuts side by side certainly convinced me that a RR peanut of some kind would definitely be worth having!

Yes, it is a Queen made peanut in D2 for Northwoods of the Dave Shirley era and quite a catch. Here is mine.

Case made a white delrin faux bone peanut for a certain farm/outdoors company.

I'm back ;)

and I also did the mods to both blade's tangs so that they open up more and are more in line with the back of the frame, never cared for that angled look, just seemed out of kilter to me.

I accidentally passed through TSA a few years ago with this guy in my carry on, so I left it at my parents' place instead of pushing my luck on the return leg. It's a 2010 Case with Harvest Orange bone scales.

This came yesterday. Cv chestnut bone. It's got a little bit of use but no less lovable. Blades sharpened up like only cv can.

What do you mean by calling it "lowly"? That's lovely, my friend, LOVELY!

Thank you.

Rant off.

Haha! Thank you Cappy, I posted it following a couple of gorgeous north woods stag peanuts and might have been a little self deprecating. I love my peanuts, and this one has been in my pocket for a couple weeks now. I've actually really been digging the stainless blades in this NC summer
