WOW! That is a beauty! I love Case's old red bone! I think my grandpa carried one very similar to that all through the 60's.

^^^ Actually my own Grandfather carried one for many years and I have that one - it's JUST LIKE THIS ONE but much more worn. I was looking for one just like his and our very own Paul Hilborn saw my "Looking For..." signature and so kindly gifted me this one! I was fearful of losing my Grandfather's 6232 and figured I'd look for one to carry - I truly love this one, it's +/- 50 yrs old and a gorgeous example of Case in it's heyday.

That is awesome. I'd say it's been sharpened a few times.

Wells guys I'm loving this Texas Jack!! Really glad I bought one. Picture posted above. I soaked the Amber bone in black tea and put a nice patina on the blade and have never seen a more beautiful knife. Everything about it is perfect. Blades centered and no blade play at all! Glad I found this thread.

glad we could be there to help
always great to see another convert to the Cult of the Texas Jack

the only time i'll join this cult in when they show enough top and bottom shots. crinked or each blade having its own spring and channel. those are the first things i look at.

Hi Hank,

The Texas Jack does in fact have separate springs and channels for each blade, as you can see in the pic of my knife below. The pen blade on mine is actually more centered than it looks in the photo.

I like this pattern very much
here is my CV Red Bone TJ - next to few different jacks, just to show size and blade shapes

I've probably posted this comparison picture before in this thread.

Clockwise from the top:
- Small Texas Jack, 62032 Amber Bone CV
- Medium Jack, 62087 Brown Barnboard SS
- Texas Jack, 6292 Brown Jigged Bone (?) CV
- Medium Jack, 62032 Sunset Winterbottom Bone SS

Now that is a nice looking foursome! I have been looking for one of those Brown Barnboard medium jacks for quite sometime...cannot find one.

Not a Case but at 4", it's clearly a Lg. Texas Jack pattern....

Frontier Powder Horn Jack from 1976.

It was a lucky find on the big auction site back a couple of years ago. Knife market and economy both were a little weaker then.

Thought I'd give this thread a bump because the Texas Jack DESERVES all the glory it can get. Of course full fledged cult members already know why the Texas Jack is the perfect pocket knife... ;) Sleek and pocketable, just the right length to allow a proper four finger grip. Enough blade for 98.67% of all cutting tasks and the #1 most interesting secondary blade shape of any knife ever produced just to name a few of the Texas Jack's more glorious attributes. :D:D:D

Today, mine is receiving the black tea spa treatment and I'm hoping it comes home looking just like the one above. Anyways, here's to the glorious Texas Jack!

Red! The tea worked well. I eventually ended up putting it with blades up in a cup of coffee. I noticed the warmer the better. I still edc my Texas Jack and I've been really enjoying it. I havn't used the small blade much, but I keep it razor sharpe just in case. Please post a pic when it's done. I'd like to take a peak.
